For years I had enjoyed the The King House- their buffet was better than most and when you ordered off the menu you could be assured of getting a generous serving, well prepared dishes made with fresh ingredients and seasoned deliciously. This is no longer the case! We ordered off the menu which offers the standard Chinese fare. The Hot and Sour Soup is passable-rather bland in flavor but has fresh mushrooms floating in it- the fried noodles were rancid and not crisp. The Egg Rolls are smaller than most with a bland flavor and sadly rather greasy. The Crab Rangoons did have a little crispness on part of the outside but were rather soggy with grease -they had a fair flavor. My wife had the Cashew Chicken and I had the Szechuan Chicken- the servings were the smallest that we have ever had in any Chinese restaurant and had very little meat. The Cashew Chicken was drenched in salt and had an "off flavor". The Szechuan Chicken had fresh vegetables but as mentioned hardly any Chicken. The rice they served was rather unusual-akin to a fried brown rice with an interesting flavor but unlike any we had been served in a Chinese Restaurant. Sad to see a place change for the worst so radically.
