No fancy signage. No décor. This is a place for really good, really fresh Korean food. And it's very cheap ($7.99 to $10.99 for everything).
You order off a very small menu (maybe nine choices) on a whiteboard by the register. Then you grab your own Styrofoam plate and bowl, serve yourself some soup (miso or bean sprouts in a reddish broth), barley tea, kimchi, and/or seasoned bean sprouts (as much as you want), and sit. When your food comes, you’ll be amazed at the quantity and taste. Crisp vegetables, perfect rice, and enough meat to satisfy. I went there twice in one week. The sweet potato noodles with vegetables was immense and delicious. The bibimbap (which is on the menu as ‘vegetable medley”) was just as good. And there’s a cold, sweet rice malt drink for dessert…no extra charge.
I was the only oldster at this mostly a student hangout. Open 4-8 pm Tues.-Sat.
