“Where's the Bridge?”

Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park

I have been spoiled by the natural bridges of the west that I was expecting to see some sort of visible natural bridge/Arch. Instead this is where the river flows underground for a ways. While it is a bit scenic and seemed like a great fishing spot as there were several people with poles in the water. There is obviously some civil war history here as well, but I was left just a bit underwhelmed. If I was close by, I might check it out, our enjoy lunch here, but I wouldn't drive to far unless I was a civil war buff.

Large park to visit as well as the monument across the street. We just went and looked around, read the monuments and left. It was interesting.

This is a fun place to take a hike and just 'hang out' on a nice day with your family and have a picnic. The kids really enjoy the freedom and beauty of this area.

This is the State Park that honors the Battle that kept Tallahassee (State Capitol of Florida) from being captured during the War Between the States (Civil War). 3 years ago the State added a large land purchase to it. It's a beautiful site, Large UDC Monument and not much else, but important to take the little ones to and have their picture taken sitting on the Monument. I have friends, brother & sister who have a photo of themselves sitting on it, almost 60 years ago, when it was new! Incredible.

This state park is small and off the beaten path, but the local historical society and Civil War re-enactors contribute a LOT to keep this place up to high standards. Don't miss the battle re-enactment and living history events in Feb of each year. Nature lovers will appreciate the unique geological features found in the park and nearby.
