Well, I have been coming to Tallahassee for the last one year on project work and can say that the service is quite average. The staff is friendly and courteous but there are many areas which need improvement.

• There were months where the elevator was being renovated/furnished. It is a big problem when you just have one elevator working.
• When you order breakfast to-go it is expected that it will be ready when you go down after 20-30 minutes, but there is always a delay on that front.
• Sometimes rooms remain uncleaned and you have to go back all the way to the lobby to find a better suite/room.
• Internet was slow for many months at a stretch and now it has finally gotten better.

And again the staff has been good, so they do acknowledge these issues. But at times these minor areas can make a big difference in making your stay warm and pleasant. When you travel for work, you do expect SPG to lead the way in hospitality - which it does 99% of the time, but this hotel needs to step up its game.

Just returned from a three night stay during the FSU v. UM football game. First time staying at this hotel after staying at other downtown hotels such as the Doubletree, Residence Inn, Hotel Duval and Aloft. I would rate each of them superior to this hotel. Prices were high because of the big football game which is typical. The hotel has a policy of discounting your stay by $5 if you opt not to have your room cleaned by the staff which is pretty silly when you are paying close to $400 per night. First the positives, the staff was very friendly. Check in was easy. The lobby is nice and the bar/restaurant is a nice touch. Parking is ample and easy and it is very close to the FSU Campus. The hallways were nice as well. The rooms left a lot to be desired. We had a 4th floor room overlooking Tennessee St which was very noisy all night and very busy all the time. A light sleeper would hate the room. The room itself was very mediocre. The bathroom fan didn't work and the bathroom was mediocre at best. The room had no closet but did have an armoire which was awkward because cloths had to be hung perpendicular to the door so to get out an article in the back, I had to take out all of the cloths in front of it. There was also no light to see the cloths in the back. The room lighting was poor. The beds were very comfortable which was a plus and the room had a nice large TV on the wall but otherwise the rooms were very typical. The hotel location, while close to campus, pretty much requires a car to go anywhere although on game day, the have a shuttle to and from the game which is a nice touch and very courteous. However, if pricing is the same, I would prefer one of the other downtown Tallahassee hotels.

Room tip: avoid lower floors that face Tennessee Avenue

Returned back to the Four Points where we stayed last year. Very glad we did. Again they took great care of us. Check in was easy, breakfasts were perfect (thank you Taylor), took the shuttle bus to and from the game. Again, we had the suite and worth the extra costs.

Room tip: Get the suite.

An ideal location and clean and very modern rooms make this a great hotel for Tallahassee. Price was good, too. Breakfast was a bit below par, but everything else worked just fine.

Excellent beds as well.

Room tip: If you have any Starwood upgrades, the suite is pretty awesome.
