Description: Uncle Lui’s offers family-style dining that crisscrosses Europe. German and Hungarian dishes like goulash and schnitzel are on the menu, as are items like roast duck, chowders and homemade apple strudel. The friendly service adds to the appeal, as do the wallet-friendly prices.

Small restaurant in strip mall with good food and huge portions. You start with complementary potato pancakes accompanied by apple sauce and sour cream. Then either a large salad or a bowl of soup. I has weiner schnizel that was very good and enough for two dinners. This was accompanied by a large portion of spaetzle and family style servings of red cabbage and creamed spinich. Coffee and a choice of desserts was included and the apple strudle was delicious. all of this for average dinner prices of $16 or $17.

The food is always great and the staff does a good job. I love eastern European food and there are not too many really good places to get it.
Yes it can be a bit crowded and a wait at 6 pm is possible, but it's all about the food.

A few friends introduced us to this place and we will definitely make it a regular visit! Reservations are a must and I would go around 8 to avoid the biggest crowds. The food is delicious plus you get so much food you'll have enough left over for a couple of days. The snitzel was delicious along with the corn chowder. I was so stuffed after the main course but couldn't stop eating the apricot crepe for desert because it was that great! This will be a new stop when relatives come to visit. The service is also outstanding.

Uncle Lui's is a tiny Hungarian restaurant hidden in a strip mall. For anyone who is familiar with Middle European food, this place is an incredible surprise. They serve the very best of Hungarian home cooking. Who would expect to find that hidden away in a FL shopping mall? As others have noted, the food is to die for. (Unfortunately, if you eat Hungarian food every day, it is truly to die for.) A plus is the very home-like decoration. You are sitting in a middle class living room in Budapest or Vienna. Brush up on your Hungarian before you go--although German and even English is well understood.

Went to Uncle Lui's for the first time on Wednesday. They are only open Wednesday thru Sunday in the evening. Reservations are a must.
They are located in a very undesirable looking strip mall that runs perpendicular to the main street. Good thing they are one of the close units to the street or I might not have driven down any further in the dark.
You walk into a clean but small dining area with tables much to close to each other.
The food was good. My wife ordered trout almondine which she said was good and I had lamb chops also very tasty.
One of the complaints I have is that they give much to much food and price it accordingly. We DO NOT take food home from restaurants and therefore have to leave a lot of food on the table that we have paid for. They do have an early bird that we will try next time where the price is less and the portions smaller.
The folks at the other tables, all an elbows length away, were talking loudly and drowned out the words of our dining partners who speak very softly. That is very I titled my review "Too Close For Comfort" and gave it 4 not 5 stars
The potato pancakes that they start you out with are big and great. They also serve red cabbage and cream spinach with the meal, family style. To be truthful I tried neither as there just wasn't room in my stomach for any more.
They also end the meal with coffee, tea etc and dessert which I did not refuse. The strudel was very tasty. The dessert is included in the meal price, or I would have passed.
I went home and had an antacid and swore never to "pig out" again.
