“Better than Average, Nice Atmosphere”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

This was a quick lunch stop after coming in from the airport. Service was good and friendly and the food was above average. It is a little old, but clean enough. The "beach sand patio" was a nice touch. I would go back for lunch again.

“Nice location but not impressed....”
Reviewed February 21, 2013

I had heard good things about this place from a few people, but our experience was not good. From the minute we walked into to this place I had a bad feeling. Two guys sitting out back smoking cigarettes, and the few people working inside were rushing around frantically. Not a particularly busy night, open tables all around, just no organization anywhere in this place. It also appeared very unkempt, almost dirty. We sat outside in the cute little 'beach' area with a nice view of the bridge and waterway. It took a while to get service, the waitress was very pleasant, got a few drinks and an app to start out so we could test the waters.....good thing we did not order all at once. We tried the calamari, it is always our test food, a good cook can prepare it any way and serve it with a special sauce and make it unique or in this case it can be fried (in old grease) and tossed on a plate with standard bottled marinara. We chose to move on and not order dinner. I wanted it to be good because the location is quite nice, this is just my experience, but I didn't care for it at all. The location has so much potential I don't understand why they wouldn't take advantage of making it great rather than standard.....and the beach area needs more atmosphere, a tiki bar and some music would really add to the overall feeling of a waterside setting. Apparently others find it to be quite good, maybe we hit it on a bad night???

“Lunch with Fido”
Reviewed February 1, 2013

If your looking to take your 4 legged best friend for lunch, the Pelican Cafe is the place. We took our pup there for lunch, this was the first time we ventured to a restaurant with her. The staff brought her a bowl of water with ice and made sure it stayed filled. We received tail wagging service as well. The food was good, we had wraps, and the view was excellent. It is right on the intercoastal waterway. We had a great time and would recommend it to anyone with 2 or 4 legs.

“Awesome "Greek" salad, chock full of shrimp”
Reviewed January 22, 2013 via mobile

Artichokes, grilled portobello mushrooms and red peppers, olives, feta etc. A bargain at $14.95. Almost famous fish tacos were also gret with incredible stuffings. Yum!
Rustic outdoor seating only, very casual. For what it is, excellent.
