We went on a 14 day cruise on the Island Princess, with stops at Aruba, Cartehania, Panama Canel passage, Panama City and Costa Rica. Princess food quality has sure taken a step down. The steaks were tough (almost not edible) and the buffett was like getting stuck in a below average Golden Corral. Food was cold, the bacon paper thin and the grits served dry with no meat gravy, etc. etc.. The pastries and bakery foods were good. The activities were not very good (need updating and more of them) and the movies need better choices. Things like broken chairs still in service, leaks in the waste system and a really annoying noise in the outside door frame of our cabin that would keep you awake at night added to the low rating. The five days at sea is too long without a stop or more/better on board activities. The production entertainers were like going to a Jr College show. The single entertainers where not very good with one exception. Bobby Wilson put on a great show that got standing ovations. The cabin attendent (Marlow) was great and did a fine job and should be commended for his work. The service crew was very good at the buffett), but the dining hall was below average service with mixed up orders and cold coffee servied. This was my second cruise with Princess and they have certainly lowered the standards from only a year ago. I will certainly look into other cruise lines for my next cruise.
