Our friends always stay here, and my daughter was willing to pay the price....The location is wonderful. The staff is great. We did not stay in the beachfront Sandpiper, but our friends did. Rooms are almost identical.... $150 more expensive to stay on the beach...and has a smaller pool. Needs some updating.... shower and bathroom area by the pool smelled and was dirty, and a concrete floor.... after charging our friends $289 a night for the room and a $15 a day "resort fee", they charge you $20 for 2 lounger chairs to lay on the beach...you get towels free!!!!! No breakfast is furnished....although I did talk to someone that said they had a free breakfast included in their room. If it were me.....and you didn't HAVE to stay on the beach....I would stay at the Hampton, and go to a public beach!!!! If you are not concerned with price...a great golf course on site, and nice rooms!!!!! They do have awesome beds, but you choose either king or doubles instead of queens. Doubles are just not big enough for 2 people to sleep comfortable. But they do offer free rollaways.

Dear 2babybluz,

We appreciate your feedback about our resort. The Hutchinson Island Marriott is a resort hotel with all of the full-service amenities guest expect at a resort property. While there are certainly more inexpensive properties available in the area, they are less expensive because they do not offer the complete range of resort facilities and amenities that we do. Guests who want the convenient access to the beach, pool, restaurants and lounges, etc. prefer to stay at a full-service resort versus a select stay property with limited facilities. Every traveler knows what it important to them and we hope that each selects the resort or hotel that best suits their budget, lifestyle, and preferences. We wish you very happy travels wherever your next vacation may take you.

Look no further for an unpretentious beach getaway! This large resort features beautiful grounds, super friendly staff and lovely updated rooms. Some little things like a slightly worn room balcony or a few sugar ants in the wet bar area won't ruin your vacation...but does keep me from giving this spot a five star review. Overall, this place is laid back fun! The moderate beach area is really nice with touches like a tiki bar and reservable cabanas snuggled in the dunes. There's also a golf course with aqua golf, tennis, bike rentals, games and a very nice restaurant. The resort offers tram service to get around or you can take your car and park. Nice mix of families and adults. Look forward to visiting again!

This is a nice hotel with great facilities. It is huge and has its own beach, golf course and pools.
I stayed at the main hotel overlooking the pool which was great.
It is more like a timeshare resort than a hotel, but the room was nice, clean and a good size.
I did not stay long enough to enjoy all the facilities, but will visit again sometime in the future.

Room Tip: Stay at the main hotel or overlooking the beach

Let me start by expressing my gratitude to James McAfee. Being in the customer service industry sometimes it's hard to find those who actually have the professionalism that comes with this territory. James = customer service and is an asset to Marriott. In fact all the staff was great, friendly, and always with a smile. Chris who helped w towels and beach chairs, so personable and friendly. I truly enjoyed my much needed vacation with friends. This hotel is a great place to stay with beautiful beaches and friendly service will definitely go back. Thank You James and Marriott.

My husband and I recently spent four nights at Marriott Hutchinson Island Beach Resort. We chose to stay at their Sandpiper property which is located directly on the beach so that we could enjoy the views and take walks in the mornings. They have the most accommodating staff! Ben checked us in and Jo answered every time we had to call the front desk. Both were extremely friendly and concerned while maintaining totally professional. The unit we had had nice views overlooking the ocean. The bedding was great and the suite was very clean. Unfortunately,
the building is laid out poorly and voices carry through the open-air atrium. We were awakened at 2:30 a.m. by a group of spring-breakers who kept talking in the hall until almost 3 a.m. THEN,
they came back out around 3:30 a.m. to talk again! The next morning, I called the front desk and spoke to James, the front desk manager. He was extremely apologetic and offered us "perks"
to make up for our lack of sleep. He was very professional and caring. The staff there is excellent. This is important because, frankly, the property needs some remodeling and some freshening up. For example, the bathroom vanity, although granite, was only as high as my mid-thigh. Marriott cut some corners the last time they remodeled. They also have what seems to be slipperty tile in the common areas and near the elevators. I give the staff an A+ and the maintenance of the property a B-.

Room Tip: Try for a higher floor to avoid noise from the stairs and don't take a room overlooking the parking lot.
