I have noticed this little place a few times when we were looking for parking for the other larger restaurants that neighbor it. Those places have great atmosphere, but the food was ‘ok’. This time we decided to go here instead (thankfully!).
There was a wait for a table for 5, but only about 30 minutes on a Friday evening. We made a few new friends while waited too. In contrast to the “neighbors”, this place does not have a great view and it is a little cramped, but the food is worth it! As we love fresh seafood we ordered off the ‘Catch of the Day’ section and loved our fish crusted with nuts (pistachios for one and macadamia nuts for the other order). Both tasted fantastic, along with the rice and asparagus that came with it. Two others in our group also had the fresh fish, and the other had a seafood platter. The seafood platter seemed a bit small, but tasted fine.
I look forward to going back to the Stuart area so I can return the King Neptune!

We just discovered this little gem. Only eight tables and looks are very deceiving from the outside. The food is so clean and fresh and delicious. In season there's normally at least a half hour to 45 minute wait During dinner hours. If you go there you must try the hog fish the most incredible delicious fish ever. The restaurant is small but has a very Key West feel to it.

King Neptune has become the local "King of Seafood" restaurant...and for good reason. It's no wonder locals are so in love with this place that they offer heartfelt encouragement to those waiting for a table (there are no reservations). The seafood is fresh (oh, so fresh!), the service is courteous and prompt and the preparation is really top notch. It is very small (yes, 35 seats, that's all) and funky, but who cares when the fare is so darn good and the prices are so reasonable. It's all a recipe for restaurant success and the owner knows a good thing (he reportedly turned his nose up at the possibility to expand when the place next door went under a while back). Why fix what some consider to be perfect - a small, local restaurant run by friendly folks turning out consistently good seafood, night after night! My wife's mahi-mahi, blackened, was perfectly cooked and very flavorful - my pan-seared version gave proof to the fish's freshness...and the fries accompanying the entrée were killer. Our conch fritter starter was delicious too. All in all, THIS is the spot for seafood in Port Salerno/Stuart - and don't be put off by the casual, appearance of this place - this is all about the food. Even with a crowd, the wait is pretty short since the table turnover is normally pretty quick. No reservations, no Amex, no Discover. GO.

A very small restaurant with so little atmosphere that it qualifies for ambiance. The food is awesome. Everything I've tried is great. The tuna dip is to die for.

This restaurant is a very small local gathering place. If you get there and there are no tables, wait patently outside until the waitress calls you in. You won't be disappointed! We were surprised, and impressed that one waitress was handling the entire place. We went for lunch, and I had a Grouper sandwich served on toasted Bimini bread, which gave the sandwich a slight sweet taste; it was delicious! My husband ordered the Grouper Reuben sandwich which is served with coleslaw, cheddar cheese, and 1000 Island dressing on rye bread. It may sound like an odd combination, but it really is very good. We tried their Tabasco Onion rings, which are very flavorful and not too hot. The Grouper was very fresh, and their coleslaw is some of the best I've ever had (even better than my own home-made). We will definitely put King Neptune on our "eat there again" list!
