We've enjoyed dining at Thep Thai many times over the years. Located in Regency Square Plaza and close to the movie theater, it's a great place for lunch or dinner. The menu is massive! It has tempting Thai dishes like curry and Pad Thai with your choice of chicken, beef, pork, tofu($12.95), vegetables($10.95) or shrimp, scallop or squid($14.95). Dishes are served with soup or salad and are quite hearty.
We go mainly for sushi. The selections are enormous! Combos consisting of Sushi, Sashimi and Teriyaki or Pad Thai or Shrimp Tempura are available. Japanese appetizers are Shrimp Tempura($6.95), Gyoza, fried or steamed dumpling($4.95) or Edamame, steamed soybeans($3.95) to name a few. Soups and salads are Miso soup(1.95), Seaweed($4.95), Avocado($5.95), Seafood($7.95) or Special Chef($10.95) salads. Maki Mono rolls are priced from $2.95 for a simple cucumber roll (Kappa Maki) to $8.95 for a crunchy vegetable roll deep fried and topped with spicy mayo and kimchee sauce, yum! Exotic special rolls run the gamut as well. Names like Volcano, Sunrise, Hurricane, Dancing Eel, Spider and Ocean rolls just to name a few, priced $6.95 to $10.95. There are also Temaki(cone shaped hand rolls) and Thep Thai's Super Rolls. Our favorite is the Crunchy roll: salmon, tuna, crab, avocado & scallion fried with mayo and kimchee sauce on top($12.95). Delicious and huge!
Tempura, Katsu and Yakimono entrees are also available for those who aren't sushi lovers. Children may dine on chicken or steak teriyaki($6.95 or $8.95), chicken or shrimp katsu($6.95 or $8.95). There is also a sushi combo available ($8.95) with a crab roll, kappa maki, shrimp and crab sushi.
