Good Times Motel and Marina

My husband and I stayed at the Good Times Marina / Motel (Formerly Gulfstream) on a two day getaway (June 2013). Both of us work stressful jobs and were looking for a relaxing couple of days and this certainly was it! The motel is friendly, laid back and inviting. The owner showed us to our room and gave us a brief history. He's very cheerful and nice. The room we had was small but immaculately clean!! I love that they used tile instead of carpet. There is an attached restaurant/bar that serves an awesome grouper sandwich and it seems to be the place where everyone meets up to share their fishing stories. My husband and I are NOT fishermen but it was so fun hearing them talk about the tournaments etc. The people in town are VERY FRIENDLY and will include you in any and all conversations so you never feel like an outsider. We are already planning our next trip! Don't go expecting a 5 star hotel...but do go and enjoy what Steinhatchee has to offer, and enjoy the clean, friendly environment of the Good Times Marina and Motel.

PS...there were always boat captains nearby for charters. FUN!!

Room Tip: Breakfast in the Who Dat Bar and Grill....$2.75 +/- for the Who Dat Breakfast Sandwich...can't b...

This is the second time we stayed and could not have been more pleased!! The staff is beyond wonderful. Rooms were SPOTLESS and beautiful! Such a relaxing atmosphere! We stayed last July (2012) and were taken back by all the renovations they had done in such a short time. It looks like a brand new place!! Cant wait to come back!

Room Tip: May not want to stay close to the bar if you have kids or are a light sleeper.

We visited Good Times for fall break with our kiddos, October 2012. We all had a great time! We stayed in a cabin, which was very spacious. Two double beds downstairs, and a double bed in a loft, the kids loved it. It was like their own lil room. Kitchenette was great, big fridge for all the kids junk, even came with all the dishes! Nice new beds, very comfy! We hung out in the Who Dat bar and grill, the food was awesome, and so was the entertainment. They had a DJ one night and a band another night. All of the Good Times staff were very friendly, good conversation. One of the guys even taught my son how to set crab traps! Loved it ! We had a great time and look forward to going back again!

Room Tip: The cabins are the best value if you have kids, or multiple families, lots of room!

We made the worst travel decision of our lives by staying in this run down dump. We were assured that the motel was in tip top condition prior to our arrival. All new mattressess etc. They weren't. Ours had a foam topper to hide the valley in the middle. Restaurant open for business, come on in! Took our boat so we could not go anywhere else when the desk clerk told us we could have our money back if we didn't like it. The room was so far away from the parking lot and the only luggage dolly (maid cart) had broken wheels. No assigned boat slip so we had to move every day because the BAR had too many boaters. At night the locals got down with some serious hoopin' an' hollerin' at the bar that was right next to our room! As this is a boat motel our family party was up early in the morning and fishing and scalloping all day and we wanted to get some peace and quiet at night. The staff told us to go to hell. We were accosted by a local who told us to go home Yankee and wanted to fight. Run far and Run fast.

Room Tip: Find another place

I am a first time scalloper & stayed at Good Times June 30-July 5, 2012!! Had blast!! Staff was ALWAYS around and SUPER friendly, very accommodating! We pitched a tent as we had several families with us staying throughout the marina. It was very enjoyable and safe! Everyone was very laid back and chill! Cant wait to go back, planning to return Labor Day 2012!! Only downfall was ice was super expensive, but worry not, there is a place right down the road that will give you 50lbs for $3! Looking forward to our returning trip~

First time visit to Steinhatchee. We brought our boat. A boatslip comes with every room rental. The boat facilities were great. The hotel is old florida. The rooms were very spacious, with room for improvement on decor. Most of the rooms have double beds instead of Queen.. and the mattresses have not all been updated yet....hard like a board. However, I was prepared for that. I always take along my own memory foam topper that I purchased at Costco... I must say that great time with friends and boating well over compensated for details on the room. The hotel has a wonderful casual restaurant and deck that overlooks the river. The fresh seafood for dinner and lunch was very good. A band played on Friday and Saturday night, making our experience even all the better. I loved our trip and would go back. I got a chance to ask the manager to see one of the cabins. They had 3 double beds and a loft for children to sleep, as well as a kitchenette. I will request a cabin next time. The rooms were all very clean. No problem with that at all. The hotel management staff is always around to help. Very nice people. They have a cute litttle puppy and kitty that greet you in the ship store. I am a picky person in regards to staying in fancy places. This was not fancy, but this was great! LOVED IT!
