we were not in the motel so this is for a bottom part of a rental house that we got lucky to get that is managed by the Haven folks - it was perfect for us - bedroom, bath, kitchen/dinning area - clean and perfect for a couple - we were out on the boat all day so did not need lots of room but the upstairs is much larger - new appliance - only thing would be a larger frig -

the staff at Rive Haven are wonderful and helpful and the scalloping is amazing (200 a day in a couple of hours in the water) - for $20 a day more you can keep your boat in a slip so walk to it - they also run a tab so not needing to find cash for each bag of ice - we loved it and would go back in a second

Room Tip: ask for Bills place

Stayed here for a few days of exploring and kayaking in the river. The room was very clean and adequate, if you don't plan to spend much time in it, as it was small. Had a small fridge and microwave, TV. The internet connection did not reach our room, had to go across the street to the marina to use it. The owner and his wife were very friendly and accommodating, they were willing to shuttle us up river for our kayak trip on the Steinhatchee. Would recommend this place for fishermen and those interested in being out and about in this charming small town.

Room Tip: The refrigerator and old style A/C in our room were a bit noisy, but not to the point of being a problem.

This is the epic fishing town. If you're serious about fishing and spending time on the water, this vacation rental could be great. But, traveling with a small baby and young son, we used the room more than a typical fishing person. The cinder block walls, lack of swimming pool, and cramped quarters are all part of the charm, if you're there to fish. Those details are all part of the blech factor otherwise. We wanted to scallop for the first time, did it, loved it, had a ball. The town has little else to do. There is one restaurant, a shop or two, and the outdoors. We trekked through the parks, visited the falls, went out on a boat, fished, and visited every marina over three days. It was really tough to not have a room where we could relax, or a pool to spend some downtime. There is a tiny fridge, the room is outdated and very basic. We just aren't the ideal profile for a guest in this location.

Room Tip: There are two properties for this location, the motel is off to the side and is a block of four, very basic quarters.

The people who run the Marina and motel were wonderful: friendly, helpful. The room is adequate but not fancy. To me it was fine since I spent my time out boating and walking around in the back woods. The place was spotless and quiet. I would stay there again.

The motel is a small unit just across the street from the marina and a short walk to Fiddler's Restaurant.
