We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was close enough to the park we could walk there. The rooms were large and clean and the hot tub in the bathroom was an experience all on its own. I felt like a kid again. It was a short stay but a great adventure.

Tom, thank you so much for your review of our Holiday Inn Express & Suites! We are so glad that you enjoyed your jacuzzi room. Many guests are not aware we offer this room type. You mentioned that we are a short walk from the park. There are currently two parks located across the street from us; the world-famous Silver Springs Theme Park and the Silver River State Park. These parks are in the process of merging and Silver Springs Park is currently closed. Once they reopen together on October 4th, 2013, visitors can enjoy low admission ($8 for a vehicle with up to 8 people). The parks will feature canoe and kayak rental, rides in glass-bottom boats, hikes, a museum and more!

This is a newer property. The hotel is set back from the road an a little hard to find the driveway. Building is immaculate and the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you. I was there on business and had all my needs met. Includes free internet which is great. The rooms have friges and microwaves. It is quiet and a good place to stay. I have stayed there 3 times in past and it is a good place to go.

We have stayed there a couple of times and always enjoy it. We usually get there late in the evening and the front desk people are exceptionally nice and make sure we have everything we need. The employees that deserve recognition are: Hollie,Cheri and Richard. We also love the wonderful breakfast and the immaculate room. The food and housekeeping staff also deserve recognition, but I do not know their names. Anytime we even come close to Ocala on our travels, there is only one place for us to stay and that is at Holiday Inn Express in Silver Springs.
Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Baker

My family did a kayak trip up the Silver River to the springhead and back in August 2013 and stayed here two nights. We have stayed here in the past to go to Silver Springs attraction and it is loated right outside the entrance to the attraction. Having driven all around Silver Springs on more than one trip, this is easily the best hotel without driving into Ocala. Mind you, Ocala is only minutes away and has more hotels but at $94/night this met my expectations perfectly. My wife is fairly picky about the cleanliness of hotels and this property had nothing to apologize for. It was clean and up-to-date, the bathroom was clean, and the bed linens were fine. The workout room was just some treadmills as I recall, so if you are hoping to work out be advised it does not have the dumbells or universal weight machines often found in chain hotels.

They have a free breakfast room and that always saves us a lot of time and aggravation in the morning even when it is minimal. This one was standard for a Holiday Inn Express, with coffee, danish, bagels, cereal, yogurt, bananas, etc and for "hot" food they have a pancake machine, a tray of sausage links or patties, and a tray of scrambled eggs. The sausage was fine and the scrambled eggs were OK, but a bit institutional. Both were lukewarm, which seems like it would be easy to address if only they would use proper serving trays with the steam chargers. Note that the sign at check-in listing the breakfast items says they serve bacon and omelets but that apparently is only on certain days of the week, which seems a little misleading. No big deal, the breakfast is free, adequate, and standard fare for this type of hotel.

A word about the Silver Springs attraction: we did not go in since we were in town to kayak, but the Florida State Parks system has taken it back over and they have removed the rides and animals to revert it to a more natural appearance. Admission to the park was free while we were there and they still have the glass bottom boats rides for $13, but I can't imagine there is much to do or see there compared to the commercial attraction. I am sorry to see it change, as it was one of the last surviving "old Florida" parks and was extremely well-kept and pleasant place.

Thank you for your continued patronage of our Holiday Inn Express & Suites of Ocala-Silver Springs. We are so pleased that our hotel was clean enough to make your wife happy even with her higher standards. Regarding the fitness center, it is a bit limited but our front desk does have complimentary passes to a local gym. The Silver Springs Park will re-open as a state park on October 1st and we know that they will be working to make it a great facility even after that date. It will now feature swimming in the springs as well as kayak rentals which allow access to Silver River Park also. Thank you again!
