I was skeptical: to me, an eco-lodge is one where they couldn't bother to build a real hotel. But once there, I could appreciate the alternative building techniques and distinctive atmosphere they have created. Unfortunately, the road construction out front was noisy/messy, but their food and service more than made up for it.

Room tip: Choose a higher room if you want more privacy.

Just stayed here, staff couldn't have been more gracious, the rooms are clean, great food, wonderful experience. The rooms are open on one or both sides, so you really feel like you're part of the jungle setting.

Don't be thrown by the nearby ongoing construction, you won't hear a thing with the rushing river and abundant cicadas. Go early to Cocalmayo Hot Springs, gets very crowded from 4pm on.

Thank you Kiké and crew!

Were given the room at the top with views over the tree tops, an open air shower and no windows! Bliss! Full of visiting birds which they encourage by leaving fruit out for them. There is a noisy little paraket owned by the family living in a house below; more funny than annoying. The food is good, the staff are great and I love the fact that they do not sell bottled water but allow you to refill yours from their large dispenser. A nice relaxing haven before walking to Aguas Calientes. Unfortunately the hot springs were closed due to striking locals but we were more in support of the workers than not getting to visit.

Very cool treehouse to stay before going to Machu Picchu. It is bit pricey for backpackers but the view is amazing and... TREEHOUSE ! That word by itself should sell it !

The staff is nice, there is free water and fruits (oranges and bananas mostly), some hammocks to relax and the baths are not too far (30 minutes walking).

The only problem is that it's a bit off the beaten tracks of the city but nothing too terrible.

The lodge is a bit outside of the city, built around trees, so you are literally sleeping in a tree house ! Very exciting, but also for us very cold. As there were no windows/walls, the wind caught us very soon in the evening. But the view, the staff, the breakfast and the open bathrooms (open on the outside of course!) made me forget the cold. Been there in July (winter).
