I read all the glowing reviews and thought I was heading to Paradise. But this place did not live up to the hype. From the empty beer bottles that were on the deck from before we arrived, and were still there when we checked out six days later, to the lights that were burned out in the bedroom, living room, and around the hot tub, which, when brought to the attention of the owner, he told us to leave the lights on inside the second bedroom so we could see, I suggest that anyone considering this place should research a little more. Oh, and though the pool looked clean, my eyes burned for 36 hours after a short swim, so be sure to bring goggles for you and especially your children. There's more, but you get the idea.

Skip the Turtle Beach Resort. Very overpriced for outdated cottages. The area is very small and enclosed and not so-private. The beach is down the street at least a ten minute walk. Not at all what you expect based on brochures and website. Extremely disappointing.

When looking for a place to propose to my girlfriend, I found the Turtle Beach resort online. I surprised her by waking up early in the morning and flying down to FL. It was magnificent. I was trying to make everything perfect and called the office numerous times. Every time I did, Gail was extremely nice and helpful. The suite we stayed in was breathtaking. Views that are amazing, sunsets that people write about, the whole weekend was perfect and the Turtle Beach Resort was a HUGE reason why. We're already planning our next visit. By the way, she said yes!

The Turtle Beach Resort is a quiet, well-preserved, treasure. Beautiful tropical flowers line the planked walkway from your cottage to the pier. While there are so many things to do (the kayaking is fantastic- we went to a secluded beach), you can enjoy the guilty pleasure of doing nothing by lounging around your cabana. The weekend we went it was so cold and windy we couldn't lay out on the Siesta Key Beach (the reason we went on this trip in the first place). However, the resort was so wonderful we still managed to have a great time- how many places in FL can you have a great time in spite of the weather?

This is the place where you leave home to feel like you are right at home. If you need room service, turned-down beds and spa offerings, then certainly stay somewhere else. If you want a charming experience where you can go the whole weekend without seeing another guest, stay here.

If you and your special someone are looking for a quiet, romantic, beautiful place to spend time together, this is the place for you! We just returned from a weekend trip and it was wonderful. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, remote control a/c was silent, great kitchen with full cookie jar, big bathroom with lots of towels and 2 robes. Everything has recently been updated and the grounds are exceptionally beautiful. By day we kayaked aroud the bay with the dolphins, and at night we relaxed in our private hot tub sipping on wine and eating fruit- who needs a resturant here??? Gail and Dave are very friendly, the beach is beautiful, the place is wonderful...hope I can afford to return some day!

We just returned from our stay at this lovely resort.
We found this location by doing a bit of research online. From our first phone call to inquire and make reservations the owners Gail and David went out of their way to make sure our stay would be lovely.
My husband and I left our 3 children at their granparents so we could 'escape" for a quick getaway!
Turtle Beach was exactly what we were hoping for!
Quiet, romantic, peaceful, relaxing, nice location, walking distance to the beach. We have stayed at many fine hotels and resorts around the world but we truly felt like this was a slice of heaven on earth!!
The rooms were spacious, clean, adorably decorated, the hot tub was perfect!
We hope to return soon!!

We came the first time to the Turtle Beach Resort in January 2002 and since then, we come again each time we're in Florida. We love it! We already went there for 5 week-ends/short vacations and lived in cottages (our favorite is the Jasmine one) as well as in studios in the new Inn. The place is quiet and very nice, the cottages and studios are clean; The inkeepers, David and Gail, are friendly people, it's always nice to have a chat with them and they do everything to make your stay enjoyable.
We went to many places around this world - the Turtle Beach Resort is one of those we dream about when we're at home in the cold north of Germany. We would come back when ever we can! Our next trip there is already booked - we can't wait to be back there in a few days :-)
Go there: It's a beautiful place in paradise!
