“For the price, we would stay again”
Reviewed April 30, 2012 via mobile

We stayed in the Fiji and for the price (we caught the last week of in-season pricing) it was not a bad value. We had a nice living area, small kitchen, dining area, screened in patio and of course 1br/1ba. Our "cabana" was pretty clean, except there was a little mold in the shower; it was not anything outrageous, something you'd find in an older house in the grout but nonetheless it was still there. The furnishings and fixtures were definitely a little dated. If there was any complaint that we would have is the fact that our only real AC unit was connected and actually controlled by another guests' room. We had a wall unit and ceiling fans, but at night the AC vent was our only source of real cold air in the bedroom and because it was controlled by the other guests we were at their mercy. The windows were left open and fans on as well for most of our stay because it did get fairly warm, which provided nice circulation during the day but at night it definitely got hot. The location of the resort is great though, only a block away from the beach and a short walk -- maybe 2 or 3 blocks -- from Siesta Key Village where all the restaurants and shops are. Overall we didn't spend a ridiculous amount of money, we had a nice place to sleep and rest, and we were able to walk EVERYWHERE which we loved!

We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and thank you for your input. It is important for us to be aware of issues that need to be addressed in order for our guest to have a great experience. We have already put in a request to have the shower stall re grouted. As a rule we have had very few issues with the AC, but per your review, we have recommended having a second AC window unit. We look forward to having back again in the near future.

Totally outdated. Bathroom tiles mouldy. Cupboards and furniture (chairs and sofas filthy) Outdated vertical plastic blinds falling off tracks. Screen doors broken or missing!!! Had to make 5 calls to office including plugged drains; broken stove elements; mouldy filthy shower curtain liner and torn bug screens. The maintenance staff were very helpful but at $1500 a week we should not have to deal with these issues. The white interior walls very grubby and badly in need of a repaint. The owners of this ground floor unit should be ashamed of themselves; even the patio furniture was broken and grubby missing paint (seen better in the garbage dump). Basically everthing was either wornout; dirty or broken!!!!! It is a shame because the location is on the beach is excellent. Would never rent from Banyan Tree Resorts again
PS: The neighbours upstairs were great

We booked a family trip, for 5 couples and 2 babies. one house with a pool and one on the beach, the Beach house "solitude" was rough to say the least.. had black mould everywhere, and was totally run-down. i'm sure glad we travelled over 2000 miles for a place full of mould. thanks banyon tree.

My husband & I spent a week in the Key West Suite. The apartment was bright & beautiful. The bed in the master suite was sooo comfortable, I wanted to take it home with me. The kitchen was equipped with everything I could have asked for.
I have difficulty walking because of knee & hip problems, but the location was close enough to the village and the beach for me to walk there with very little trouble.
Bicycles were nice and readily available. The pool was small, but very clean and heated to a perfect temperature.
We were pleased with everything, and look forward to staying there again.

My four kids, wife, dad and sister-in-law had a wonderful time at the Banyan Tree Islamorada beach condo in Siesta Key. We drove down from Minnesota and when we arrived we saw that the place was just as nice as the pictures showed. Right across the street from beach access was great because we didn't have to get any sand in our car from needing to drive to the beach and it ment that we could come and go in small groups without all needing to agree to go to the beach at the same time. Three nights in a row we did the ever-so-pleasant stroll to the Siesta Village to have dinner, drinks and icecream. It was such a relaxing place. Me and my son caught fish two nights in a row and grilled them right at the condo. We plan on coming down next year for two weeks instead on one.

We have stayed in two different units and found them great. They are not brand new, but were clean and comfortable. We had a great parking spot, access to pool (we made sure we chose a unit with pool access as not all of them have it), and walking distance to beaches and restaurants.

We choose to come in low season for the great rates and reduced population. Yes it's hot but that's why we're here!

Our older tiled shower at one time was clogging up and we notified someone. They fixed it that day. If you are relaxed and easy to please then these resorts are great. You cannot beat the location or price.

Room Tip: Look up the units on a map to see where you will be before booking. Make sure that if you want a poo...

We spent a weekend at the Key Largo unit. A one bedroom condo (603 Beach Rd) in a 3 story building located a few hundred feet north of Siesta Key public beach. The condo itself is very clean with nice furniture, a comfortable king bed and sufficiently stocked kitchen. The beach is a 2 minute walk right across the street and through the dunes. The nice thing about this beach is that it's just far enough away from the public beach and it's crowds and parking issues. We had brought our own chairs and a 50 qt cooler with wheels and due to the smooth compact sand we easily rolled it right up to the shore front for our stay at the beach.
Another nice thing about this location was it's proximity to Siesta Key Village. At first it seemed like a bit of a walk so on the first night we called the siesta Key free ride(which works on tips only) to go back and forth. On the second night we decided to walk along the beach at sunset and it took about 10 minutes to get to the village. We also walked back home on a moonlit beach at the end of the night.
We did encounter one problem during our stay as the key lock to the condo broke and we were locked out. We immediately notified Jane in the office a few blocks away and she amazingly had a locksmith on scene within 20 minutes to repair the lock.
We would definitely considered staying at this location on a future visit.
