“Excellent, friendly, clean hotel”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

Stayed two nights 10th and 11th August 2013 with my family including a disabled guest.

Booked room 101 which was a 2 bedroomed suite. It was lovely and clean and adequate for our needs. It was well equipped with everything. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble including a buggy lift and from the beach for our disabled guest.

We even had use of the free rides with Denny to and from the village, he stopped right at the door and was patient and charming. He doesn't expect anything and works for tips only.

Delightful stay, good value for money and all in all well worth recommendation. What a find ! We would certainly consider returning.

Well done to all concerned in the running of this superb place.

My girlfriend and I have made the drive to Siesta Key from Washington, DC twice and both times we sought refuge from our daily lives at Sara Sea. If you are looking for a simple/low-key vacation with access to a premier beach, then Sara Sea is for you.

The units are clean and come with a fully equipped kitchen. This includes a stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and general dishes. We went with the king bed both times and its pillow-top is very comfortable. The shower consistently provides hot water with good pressure. Wi-Fi is included and worked well.

Each room has two wicker chairs and a small table outside the unit's door. This is a great place to chill before or after the beach and talk. Smoking is permitted outside the room so that is a plus for smokers, as the rooms are non-smoking.

The Sara Sea property comes equipped with two grills with the propane and grilling utensils included. There is a very clean pool that is shared by the adjacent properties, some of which are also owned/maintained by Tropical Beach Resorts.

The main office has beach towels for guests to borrow. There is also a library of movies that guests can loan for no additional charge.

The highlight of the area is the beach. Siesta Key is my favorite beach in the continental United States. It is only second in my heart to the beaches of Culebra, Puerto Rico. The sand at Siesta is 99% quartz. It thus feels like baby powder and does not retain heat so no burning your feet on hot sand!!

Pro-tips:
1. Do not miss the sunsets
2. There is a DVD player in the room. Should you want to see a new release that is not available in the movie library at the resort, then there are several Red Boxes around the area, including the local Publix.
3. The sky at night can be crystal clear. See how many shooting stars you can count in one night.

Did not spend much time at this small, friendly resort as this was not a vacation for us but a work time. Rooms were nicely decorated and if anything was missing (for us it was a corkscrew) the desk quickly found one. My sister was leaving on a second leg of her trip and the office was VERY kind to let her use their computer and printer to confirm her next bookings. Things to be aware of: parking is adequate but tight for the all the SUV'S and trucks at the resort. Closet space was inadequate for a several day stay for two people. Bathrooms were incredibly tiny as well. There was no place to hang wet towels which makes no sense at a beach resort. As a result everyone hung their wet bathing suits and towels all over the chairs outside the rooms creating a sloppy looking first impression. The chairs in the room scraped the floor so badly that my husband couldn't use them while I was sleeping! Simple pads on the bottom of the chairs would solve this issue. Wonderful: Close to beach, pleasant pool and park area, but not as close to "downtown" Siesta Key as I had hoped. Be aware of their cancellation policy. Also, we found the "hideaway" room incredibly small. Other family stayed in the next larger size and that was very nice.

Room Tip: Avoid the "hideaway"; it was so small there was no room for a person to pass another on t...

Wow, what an unexpected gem! The resosrts are located on a circular street that's tucked away off the main road. The lush foliage blocks noise and adds to the tropical ambiance since the rooms are not directly on the beach. But a very short walk down the brick path leads you to the private beach. Check in was probably one of the easiest I've ever experienced, especially for using a booking website. The friendly staff is very accommodating. The rooms are recently remodeled and decorated nicely. The kitchenette has a granite counter and stainless steel appliances. The bathroom is clean with a glass shower surround and granite vanity counter. A small bistro set outside adds a nice touch. There are well-appointed common areas for taking in the scenery, relaxing, and cooking out. Nights are calm and quiet after a walk to the beach to watch the sunset. It's close to everything on the south side and just a short drive to the north village. I would definitely return and suggest others do the same.

Room Tip: Room 170 is on the back side of the building. Secluded entrance with no neighbors.

Stayed in the Tropical Sun room 154 on a Mother/daughter trip to Siesta Key. The room was the furthest away from the beach but just a short walk, so didn't mind at all. The bed was comfortable and the room was nicely decorated and made us feel at home. Not a luxury resort but a really nice place to stay! The price was good for what we got! Def. would stay here again!

Room Tip: Room 154 is in the strip of rooms furthest from the beach, but only a short 5-10 min. walk. The nice...

After much research here on TripAdvisor for a quick weekend getaway we settled on Sara Sea Resort and it was terrific. The resort is adorable and the rooms are very clean and well taken care of but what makes this such a great stay is the staff. They were also so fun and friendly and it really made the difference for us.

I would recommend this place as a great, budget-friendly resort!

This place was beautiful, definitely will be coming back every year. The rooms were clean with daily maid service, the pool is a heated pool which makes it nice going there after the beach which by the way, it's only a quick walk away. It was also really nice because we had a grill pretty much outside of our room and the services at the hotel was excellent, I really liked this resort, they have a customer for life!!!!!
