For the past four years my family -- along with hundreds of other Buffaloians -- have made Siesta Key our Easter break destination. Crescent Arms has been THE place of choice to stay based on location, facilities, etc. Enough is enough with regard to Cresecent Arms management's refusal to address the BEACH CHAIR situation. Simply, there are not enough chairs for the number of condo guests that stay at Crescent Arms and most condos do not have beach chairs within each unit. Each unit charges anywhere from $1,800 - $2,500 and we don't pay that much to have to get up at 6 a.m. in the morning to scrounge for chairs and reserve them with beach towels. If you wait any later than SUN RISE...you will not have a chair. We have repeatedly adressed this in the office each year and are told that there are more than enough chairs to meet the needs. My response, go down on the beach at 9 a.m. when EVERY chair is taken. Vacations are being ruined as someone has to be up and out by 6 a.m. to grab chairs or you are SOL for the day. CONTRACT with a rental company during Easter break and either put the fee within the condo rental or rent the chairs by the day. SOMETHING. Crescent Arms is great...but the beach chair thing is out of control. Seriously, geting up every morning by sun rise to grab chairs is a vacation downer.

Room Tip: Condo 404 North is GREAT!

I am rating our experience in the condo that we rented. I think that each condo is independently owned. We stayed in 402S ocean view condo for 1 week. After reading a review from a previous renter on Trip Advisor I was petrified this unit wasn't going to be what I had expected. I attempted emailing that renter and never heard back from them. The complex on the outside isn't bad at all. There is covered parking, A must in Florida! The grounds as well as the inside of our South Unit was swept and cleaned daily. Entering the complex almost felt like a dorm. Nothing grand by all means. We walked into our unit and were in awe! The unit was spotless. Sure, there are marks on the walls from the hoards of people that stay here on a yearly basis but most of those were over the twin bed; almost looked like a young person kicked the wall. The walls were not dirty, just scuffed. There wasn't a balcony; we did open the windows to enjoy the sound of the waves while we watched the ocean. (Windows were hard to open, but not broken). The place was appointed so well that we never had to purchase any additional items (hand soap, dish soap, detergent). There were only 3 adults so if there were more people you would have to purchase more items. In addition to regular "kitchen stuff" there were beach towels, umbrella, cooler, wine glasses, cork screw and ice maker! There was cable, internet, and 3 tv's. There were 2 eating tables, one overlooking the ocean where we enjoyed reading and even did a puzzle. We went down and spent the the entire day at our beach right out front of our condo, the sand felt like flour......took Jerry's free ride downtown Siesta Key nightly for dinner.....The beds were very comfortable. Bedding (comforters) were a little worn. We actually folded those up and used the blankets that were in the walk in closet. I used 2 sleeping pillows since they were a little whimpy. (I had brought my own sheets "just in case" and ended up not using them). There was only 1 condo next to us so noise was never an issue.

We stayed at Crescent Arms 10 years ago and enjoyed our stay. Good beach location and great screened balcony. Feb. 2013 we stayed at 303S and very disappointed. We knew from the pictures it was not the most modern, but we liked the location and balcony. Appliances not working, old mattresses, shabby linens, broken chairs, wires hanging around door frames, repairs made to walls were not repainted, plumbing leaks. Sliding doors and interior door needed newspaper in them to keep them from blowing in the wind. Management's response was poor. Table glass was broken when we got there and still not repaired during our 3 week stay. No follow up on bathroom leak. We needed to call them again and again to have leak fixed and the hole cut in the ceiling fixed. Billed as luxury - should be billed as a shabby condo.

We probably had one of the best units available in Crescent Arms (402S). It has been renovated and has granite in kitchen and baths, nice showers, floors, and furniture. We did have complimentary beach towels and detergent for the dish washer as well as travel size detergent for the washing machine down the hall. Although the view is spectacular, this particular unit glassed in the screened in porch to allow more room inside the condo, but I must say I missed having a balcony, and every window was broken so it wasn't a plus. The unit was not very clean when we arrived. We cleaned out the fridge and wiped down some walls before we unpacked. The furniture in the great room and all of the TV's were nice, but the bedding was worn and the pillows were awful. The owners did not skimp when remodeling this unit, but there was paint chipping and the windows were hard to get past, no windows locked, even the ones leading to the open hallways. The doors, there were two for some reason, did not have dead bolts. The furnace closet bi fold door was off the track and there was duct tape there which I suppose was to hold it closed but it didn't work. If the cleaning service was doing their job this unit would be in better shape. Although the unit was pretty good, the interior hallways of the complex and the elevator were terrible. The owners should really get together and put some money out to redo the entire complex-it is a great location, but the hallways make it feel like an abandoned institution. We will most likely not return to this location.

We stayed in 601N for a week in January and that was long enough!
The weather was perfect, the beach was perfect , the view as well and so was our screened- in balcony.
However, tired furnishings, stained dishes, chipped paint, rust, dust, and tiny ants made this a disappointment.
Glad we did not have to stay inside for long.
The unit was spacious but no washer /dryer in unit.
We did not have an issue with beach chairs as Jan was a quiet time to be there.
We will not return to this property.

Room Tip: If you are near the top, be prepared to use the stairs...the elevator was broken 3 times in the week we were there and the day we checked out we had to use the stairs with all our luggage.
