We had such high hopes, but it just does not live up to the reviews. Much of it had to do with poor service, so I feel sorry for the owners in that respect.
The place is very cute, very nicely decorated, and they made us feel very welcome as they seated us. And the food is good........not great, but very well prepared with a very nice presentation. And, especially if you take advantage of the early bird specials, it is very reasonably priced. Four courses for $18-20. Having said that, it probably caters to the tourists and./or the retired residents. We are neither, and found it to be lacking in many respects.
We were seated in a nice corner table. The problem was that the tables on either side were pretty much touching us, so there is zero privacy.
As I said, the food was good..........but, honestly for French, I have had much better at 62 Bistro and Roesslers.
The major problem was the service. Our waitress spent most of the evening chatting with the folks next to us (tourists), and paid us little attention, even when serving us, she was having a conversation with them. Quite rude and boring. The lowlight came with dessert. We ordered crepe suzettes for two. $18.....prepared tableside. She had to squeeze the table in close, as she backed up to all three tables. Now, tableside crepe suzettes can be quite a romantic experience, and it is a fun show to watch, as well as delicious. Ours was none of the above. Even while preparing this for us...........she kept a running conversation with the table next to us. The man on the other side, was worried that she was going to set his hair on fire........and, his wife, was concerned that ours came with two scoops of ice cream, and she only got one. You get the picture........it was a joke. One of the other waitresses even came by to watch, and told the couple next to us, who was conversing with our waitress while eating their dessert......and the waitress told them how lucky they were.........until she saw them already eating dessert. Laughable. To top it off, we had told our waitress that we do not drink. So what does she do? As a "special treat" she tops our already made crepes suzette with additional cognac. That absolutely ruined it, as it was not flamed.............therefore, all we could taste was cognac.
Sorry Miguel, as I know much of this is not your fault..........but, a restaurant experience is decor, atmosphere, food, and service. The service killed it.
