“Kitty litter beach”
Reviewed October 22, 2013 via mobile

We stay here every year at the condos on little turtle. The beach has wonderful color and is very warm during the October season. Conch shells, dolphin, dolphin sighting, tons of Mati-rays, turtles, etc! The reason I say kitty litter is because it looks and has the consistency of kitty liter! I love the beach because at the condos , no people are really present, it's extremely quiet, and the beach every year is littered with shells! Tons of sighting and it is great . It's on the same road and a few minute drive from the famous siesta key beach where the sand is powder white, and so powdery you can put a wheelchair on it and wheel people. I will post photos. The public part of turtle beach is pretty too and has lot of activities around it

“Short visit”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

We stopped in just before a canoe ride. It is not nearly as nice as Siesta Key beach. The sand is not as nice and there was quite a drop off from the tide.

“The quite end of Siesta key.”
Reviewed October 10, 2013

Cool breezes white sand and gulls circling overhead. The blue green water is beautiful. This little known beach hidden on the quite south end of Siesta key in Sarasota Florida is the perfect spot for the family. Most folks go to the main beach and that is very nice. However, for a change turn left and head South down the key. You will be rewarded with a pleasant beach with lots of parking and easy access board walks. Lots of room for umbrellas and beach chairs. Another reason to visit this piece of paradise called Siesta Key.

“Icky Beach”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

I spent a year in Sarasota and tried all the nearby beaches. I thought Turtle might be a winner as it is farther south than Siesta which is beautiful but heavily populated. Turtle did not have a nice gradual slope into the water, and the water did not look inviting. The sand bothered me the most. It was coarse and brown. Also, the walk on the public beach is rather short as it becomes a private beach area quickly as you head north from the public parking area.. I am a huge beach walker so this was no good for me.
