“Nice place to watch the sunset”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

Loved the benches and it was a great place to watch the sunset that was marred a bit by storm clouds but it was still wonderful

“beautiful oasis”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

This beach is just south of the more popular beaches on Siesta Key. You go south on Midnight Pass and then turn right at Turtle Beach Road. Unlike some areas on the very fine Siesta Key, this slightly out of the way spot has ample parking. The beach is a sloping crescent no more than a half mile long. It is no more than 25-30 yards deep. It is backed by protected nature areas and discrete condos. There are ramps to the beach from parking areas. This is an ideal beach for swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding. It is ok for snorkeling. There are turtle nests and an abundance of sea birds. Whatever your choice, it is easy to enter the water, with natural steps of sand. There is also a multitude of shells in the shallows. For snorkeling, there are several vertical sandbars with very shallow water around them. You need to enter between them. I saw many fish close in but just sea grass further out. Still, it was a wonderful experience and I did find several nice shells and even a few pieces of coral. Turtle Beach gives a very nice, peaceful experience.

“Quiet beach”
Reviewed August 15, 2012

Turtle beach doesn't have the characteristic white "powder" sand of Siesta beach, but it also doesn't have the crazy crowds. Good beach to bring the kids to where they can hunt for sea shells.

“Disappointing.”
Reviewed August 11, 2012

It would have been a nice quiet place but the area, sights and feel of the sand and the steep drop off at the shore just made this place not too inviting. No wonder while there were a lot of people at Siesta and Crescent there was hardly anyone here.
