“Cottage scores a win!”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

Make sure Jessica is your bartender. She was terrific and knew the menu inside and out. This place is not cheap, but it one of the better meals you can have in the Village. We had appetizers and a couple of drinks and then stayed for dinner.

“An enjoyable experience”
Reviewed July 21, 2014

Dropped in at the last minute, so no particular expectations from reading reviews. Valet parking helpful and efficient, as parking is difficult (10 restaurants in immediate area). Friendly welcome, efficient service, enjoyable food. We ordered from the tapas menu, all good (tuna tacos a highlight), nothing disappointing. Shame the latte ordered at the end had no milk, but to counter that they replaced my young daughter's dropped meal for free and quickly with no complaint at all.

“Fantastic service and varied menu”
Reviewed July 20, 2014 via mobile

What a treat. First off they have valet parking which is usually needed in Siesta Key Village. The service is fantastic. Ask for Alex or Tim. The menu is Wow. We have only ordered off the tapas menu but have not been disappointed. Fun place to talk and sample some great flavors. Presentation is top notch. Full bar. A great place to enjoy a meal and you will pleased. We think it is reasonably priced for the quality of the food.

Best ceviche in town. Wish I took a pic (ate it too fast).
The happy hour was great for my schedule, (11a-5p)

“Based on rave reviews, expectations were high...”
Reviewed July 17, 2014 via mobile

Sadly though, The Cottage fell a bit short. At first glance of the eclectic menu, one would expect a tongue-tingling culinary experience at every turn, but the true gems are hidden. Sampled the lobster bisque, which the menu describes as a complex
blend of sherry, cream and fresh lobster. While the plate was visually stunning and the bisque cream based, the lobster was noticeably absent. The tuna tartar tacos were good, pretty to look at, but not drive-across-town-to-satisfy-a-craving fare. The 'famous tuna tiradito', was the true disappointment. I'm not sure if it was the watermelon that wasn't at
its sweetest peak... but the sweet/salty combo that should have been, just wasn't. The highlight of the tapas menu was the walu sashimi, served on a pink salt stone. Not only was it gorgeous to look at (all plates truly were), it was
a delight to eat as well- all the right sweet, salty, sour and spicy notes sang (loved the pop of roe!). The service was outstanding as well. The hostess greeted everyone with a genuine smile and my server, Alex, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu (big bonus!). While I won't be back to dine at The Cottage, I'm glad to have had the opportunity to try it at least once.
