Hyatt Siesta Key Beach Resort, A Hyatt Residence Club

Certificate of Excellence

This was our first trip to Siesta Key. We always read the reviews on Tripadvisor before we select a place and the reviews for this property were all excellent. It didn't look like much driving up, but the service and the accomodations were awesome. We had stopped for groceries on the way in and the valet took care of our luggage and all the bags. All we had to do was check-in. We were escorted to our room by a staff member. I wish I had recalled his name becasue he was great. As soon as the door opened, we were amazed at the room. We've stayed in nice hotels but none compared to the room we had. The kitchen inlcuded top brand appliances, the views of the gulf were amazing, the bedrooms were huge - more than enough space for four people. The level of service was great. We were not expecting much on the service side becasue this wasn't a hotel but we it lacked nothing. The staff was friendly and helpful and the place was beautiful. We can't wait to come back!

Room Tip: Request a gulf front room. It's a bit more expensive but worth it if you can do it.

Stayed here with my husband and 9 year old boy from 02/08 to 07/08. One word, amazing!!. This is by far the best 5* we have stayed in. The staff are friendly, polite and attentive without being overbearing. They have pitched it just right. We asked them to order a taxi for us, which they did while we were at reception but because it didn't turn up on time ( not their fault)they arranged for one of the golf carts to pick us up instead. When we returned to our room later there was a letter of apology and along with a gift of a beach bag and 2 frisbees. Very thoughtful even though the taxi being late was not their fault.

The beach did have a strip of seaweed on it but not a mountain by any stretch of the imagination!!! It didn't bother us. The sea was clear calm and warm.

The rooms are fantastic, we had a 2 bedroom with a village view but we could actually see a little of the beach. Although we had looked at pictures on the Internet at the time of booking and expected it to be nice, just how nice it is in reality is unbelievable. The whole resort has a really nice atmosphere about it and we will definitely be returning.....

We stayed here from August 11-15. The service is outstanding and attentive. The rooms are beyond compare and the bathrooms are the stuff of dreams. We had a village view and it had a partial ocean view which was a nice surprise. There are a couple of points we wanted people to be aware of because they surprised us.

The resort is at the end of a nothing special street. In fact, it doesn't look all that special from the village side, don't let that stop you though. There isn't a lobby in the classic sense. You drop off your car and head to the 3rd floor for the lobby/check-in/breakfast. It is tastefully done and well laid out. It's just quite small if you are expecting a typical hotel lobby. This is more of a residence lobby for sure. None of this is bad mind you, just unexpected.

Also, the pictures from the beach are deceiving. They've either been photoshopped or are quite old since there are resorts right up next to them. Again not a big deal, just not as it looks on the website. The elevators are painfully slow and it seemed like most of us who'd been there at least a day, skipped them in favor of the stairs.

The rooms really are to die for. They are top of the line and nicer than some places I've lived. The second bedrooms only have a single king so be aware of this if you're traveling with kids that don't like to share a bed. Mine ended up splitting time between the bedroom and the pullout in the den and slept great.

The beach is the nicest I've been on in the US. The sand is perfect. There was a sulphur odor when we were there but I'm not sure the seaweed was the cause. There was seaweed on the beach but certainly not mountains of it. The free use of boogie boards and kayaks was great, especially when my son got tired 15 minutes into kayaking. The beach was like a pool - calm and warm with nice fish and shells to find.

The one thing I found frustrating was housekeeping. I think part of it was due to the room rate. I think if we're paying so much for a room, our room should be cleaned in the morining. There were several days when we'd have been out all day only to find the room untidied. We called about this and were told it was a busy day (Monday I think). If I'm paying 500+/night for a room, I think it's reasonable that you'd have enough people on staff to get all the rooms cleaned early. I spoke with the manager of housekeeping who assured me the next day we'd get a cleaning between 9:30-10:30. We can back to the room at 3:30 and it hadn't been made up. This wouldn't matter to me if the cost of the room wasn't so high.

Overall it's a great place with great service and we'd definitely recommend it and hopefully we'll return soon.

This is without a doubt a first class Residence Club. The staff are amazing, friendly, courteous and so very helpful. The resort is beautiful, located right on Siesta Beach, near the end so it is more quiet than the areas closer to the public beach. Would highly recommend it to anybody wanting a piece of heaven in Siesta Key.

I knew that this place would be good as I'd read the reviews, looked at website, but still it was a surprise just HOW good. We stayed (family of 5) in a standard village view residence & that was huge with an interesting view, so goodness knows what the deluxe sea-view are like! ( maybe next time!) Only thing that would improve sleep quality for me would be the addition of some blackout curtains in master bedroom!
Yes, it is expensive, but I would say it's worth the money. Breakfast, kayak/float hire, included. Basically if they have it there they will let you use it free of charge. The valet service ran smoothly.
The included breakfast we found to be good quality & sufficient.
The pool is small. I suppose the thinking is that bigger is not required with that stunning beach to hand. We were there on July 4th and, in spite of the crowds, there was a peace & serenity about the beach and sunset.
We walked to a couple of local restaurants which were ok (Claytons' was one) & the Japanese in the village.
We didn't use the 'free' electric car rides into the village but they looked as if they would be a good idea- will do that next time.
Have visited Siesta Key many times & this was our favourite stay there. Staff were efficient & professional- ranging from slightly aloof to unbelievably friendly and helpful.
Hope to go back next time we're in Florida.

Hyatt Siesta Key has quickly become a family favorite destination. The beach is beautiful and the sunset is incredibly relaxing. As for the residences, they are excellent. They are very spacious with amenities you typically will not find elsewhere.

The complimentary breakfast is ideal for quick starts to your day. For the coffee lovers, there are multiple options (Kuerig, Nespresso, Starbucks) in the room and in the lobby.

They have all you need on the beach ... beach toys, kayaks, paddleboards, chairs and umbrellas.

The staff are friendly and extremely helpful.

Room Tip: All Deluxe units are beachfront, half of the premium units are beachfront, and none of the standard...

This was my third stay at Hyatt Siesta Key and, each time, it gets worse. It really is overrated and very overpriced. During our stay, the beach was overrun with seaweed. The hotel did absolutely nothing to try to remedy this. The stench from the seaweed was unbearable. In order to reach the beach, you had to climb over a mountain of seaweed that ran the entire length of the hotel. This was one of the worst beach experiences we've had.

On another night, there was power surge throughout the hotel that caused every tv and closet light to turn on. At 3 a.m., everyone in our family was awaken and had to turn off each tv set and undo the closet lights in order to turn them off. This was not a minor inconvenience. The hotel merely sent an apology note. I thought they could have at least offered guests a drink or two from the beach bar.

The curtains in the master and guest bedrooms are not black-out curtains, meaning the outside light comes into the room and there is nothing one can do to stop this. Be prepared to wake up early if you are sensitive to light.

The hotel gave us complimentary turn down service the first night and then advised there was a charge for turn down service if we wanted to have it again.

This was not a five star experience.
