“Beautiful Beach!”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

Gorgeous sand and crystal blue water. A little cold in early March, but stunning never the less.
Lovely to stroll or play with the kids. Also close to walkable restaurants and shops.

“finding sand dollars siesta key beach”
Reviewed March 16, 2014

Find out when low tide is, walk north of the public beach about 15 minutes to the
sand bars and wade out. The sand dollars do not appear white but greenish in colour. If they have hairlike waving on the bottom they are still alive so leave them there. You will find lots, bring them home and soak in diluted bleach for a few minutes to whiten. We found 2 dozen one day about 4 pm

“Incredible beach, beautiful white sand and clean.”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

We made a day trip to Siesta Key -- and it is definitely worth the trip. The sand is blindingly white (without sunglasses) and powder soft.
The beach is clean and the water stays fairly shallow for a ways out. Lots of fun picking shells, playing in the surf and building in the sand and people watching.
There are life guards on duty and even though there was lots of ppl there, it never felt crowded or hectic. Everyone had more than enough space to spread out and enjoy the day. Towels/umbrellas are available to rent (an umbrella is a good idea.) and restrooms are clean.
Beware the seagulls though - they're aggressive and will steal food right out of your hand before you can get it to your mouth! We laughed when it unexpectedly happened to us - but a lot of ppl might not. Parking is also free, and since there are several entrances to the beach, wasn't hard to find.

“Wonderful beach, nightmare to get there”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

it is a very nice beach, has a food concession and rest rooms. Total hassle to drive there, parking lots are full by 10:30 am on a sunny beach day. No other parking nearby. Not my kind of experience, we're going back to Sanibel...
