“Amazing Sand”
Reviewed September 3, 2011

It's all about the sand. When we went it was around 100 degrees, but the sand stays cool. You can walk on it bare foot, play with it and it is always cool. It is nice white sand. My kids loved playing in the sand and the adults were like kids playing in the sand. As you walk on the beach you constantly find sand sculptures and sand castles.

The beach has lifeguards. The beach is huge. There is sand volleyball and a playground. We really enjoed it. We were staying across the streat , so we did not have to deal with the parking. Seemed big, but there were also a lot of cars.

I personally prefer Atlantic water to Gulf water. The Gulf water is greener. Although, for small kids it was great since the water is not as rough. When there were waves, they were not that large. One of the days the water hardly moved. Around sunset you get to see the Dolphins as they get pretty close to the shore.

You have a long walk from the parking to the beach... but, no worries it is on beautiful cool white sand.

We will definitely come back to this beach. Loved it.

“Picture Postcard perfect beach!”
Reviewed September 2, 2011

Our favorite Florida beach, Siesta Key has earned top billing this year as the best beach in the US. We love this beach for many reasons. The white sand, which is quartz never gets blazing hot. Although very popular, this beach is large enough where you're not elbow-to-elbow with other beach goers. The water varies in color from turquoise, to dark blue, to seafoam green. There is not a lot of rocks and shells in the water to cut your feet and the times we've been there, the waves have been just right.

Recently, while no more than 30 feet or so from shore, we were swimming and 4 manatees passed right by us, seemingly oblivious to our presence. There are life guards on the beach and restrooms too.

Bring your coolers, chairs, umbrellas and camera and enjoy this beautiful beach.

“As good as any beach in the world”
Reviewed August 27, 2011

Siesta Beach is beauty in natue. It is a wide, deep, white powdery sand beach. There is good public parking adjacent to the beach, but get there early, any time of the year, especially in season or when there is an event, such as a beach volleyball tournament. As to the latter, you will see some incredibley beautiful people participating. I like to put on a wet suit and swim out far and just float. Typically, there are no waves. You see some fish in close, but to get a good snorkel, you have to take a pleasant hike a mile to the south to the "point of the rocks", where there is a good variety of fish around the red rock formations about fifty yards off the beach. This is just a perfect place to relax. The sunsets can be astoumdingly beautiful as well.

“Sand, sand, sand :)”
Reviewed August 25, 2011

Siesta Key is a huge, wide white sandy beach. The water is shallow for a long time, so it's also great for little kids. If you want you can walk for miles along the beach or play. Quality of sand and water are excellent. The sand is so fine, you think you're walking on flour!! The only downside for us as a couple was that it was very crowded, so if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing beach day go somewhere else. Especially for families, or if you want to hang out with your friends, Siesta Key is surely an awesome place!!
