This was such a great place. nothing fancy at all, but everything we needed and more. More towels than i could have used in a month LOL. Quaint clean apartment, old Florida charm for sure. nice warm pool, SOOOOOOOOOO close to the beach it was incredible! Grill on site, tiki bar, fully equipped, We had "neighbors" but rarely ever saw them. We felt like we had the whole place to ourself. leslie was awesome! We never even saw her until 2 days before we left. But i knew if i needed anything we could call her.

There is a washer and dryer on site, beach toys and chairs available, pool toys, bikes and rafts at no charge

This was by far one of the greatest places ever! Keep in mind I HATE going to chain hotels/resorts/etc. so this was PERFECT for us. We are just simple easy going people, not looking for the Ritz or the MGM GRAND (in which we have spent a week) and frankly i would return to The Beach Place before the MGM Grand in Vegas!! TBP is just more our style.

If you are looking for a laid back, charming, centrally located, family or couples place, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!!!

Thank you Leslie for such a wonderful trip!!

Room Tip: The Coquina was perfect for the 2 of us, 12 steps from the pool!

We make annual, and sometimes semi-annual trips to Sarasota each year. This time, we stayed at The Beach Place for the first time. After staying in the same neighborhood a number of times, we had always walked past The Beach Place on our way to the beach. We decided to try it out this time, and we're glad we did. If you are looking for a modern, upscale resort, then this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for old Florida charm, right on the beach, and near Siesta Key village, then you have found the right place. My wife and I, along with our 4 1/2 year old daughter enjoyed every minute of The Beach Place. The pool is perfect for children, and there are plenty of amenities to carry to the beach so you don't have to go buy all your own stuff, only to have no way to carry them home. Umbrellas - check. Beach chairs - check. Bicycles - check. Buckets and shovels - check. There is no every day maid service (but can be had by request for a small fee), but there is a washer and dryer on site. There are plenty of bath towels, and beach towels that are cleaned each day by the staff. The greatest thing I have to say about the small places for rent on Siesta Key is that they are owned by genuine people. And the people that stay at them are almost always down to earth good people. No stuffy, snooty-nosed people to ruin your trip. Siesta Key is a groovy, happenin' place, and a far cry from what the rest of Florida has become over the past years. It's like going back in time.

The Beach Place at 5605 Avenida del Mare Ave. in Siesta Key, Florida is a great value and a cozy little hideaway located not more than 100 feet from a pristine beach. The cottages are clean, a bit dated, but they do have charm, and the overall experience is very good. No, they are not the granite counter, stainless steel, state of the art lodgings, but they are very quaint and are equipped with all of the vital necessities. And, the owner, manager, Leslie, is a lovely lady, who is very friendly and helpful. You must talk to her before wasting your money on some of the overpriced, poor tasting restaurants. There are plenty of clean beach towels provided, plenty of left over chairs for free usage, and even a bicycle or two that are free to use. We would certainly come back again.

We just got back from staying there a whole. 4 adults and 11 kids. We had 4 of the 5 cottages. They are old, but very clean. Leslie was very helpful in offering ideas of what to do. The cleaning lady came twice and washed the towels and did anything we wanted. It is a VERY short walk to the beach and easy to get there. The village is also a short walk. Easier to walk to ride a bike than to drive a car and find parking. Also free "tips only" service available in the village. Very quaint. We basically had the place to ourselves and that was enjoyable for the teenagers we had there. No problem with them swimming at 11p.m. or even 1a.m. No locked gates, like most condos, and no wrist armbands allowing only certain people there. We were able to have friends join us at any time with no hassle. I would stay there again, especially with a group.

What'a place. It's like time travel to the good days of a relaxed Florida tropical setting just 200 steps to the beach! 200 steps! White quartz (97%) sand that stays cool in the hot sun. A real sight to see such a nice bright white beach.
When you walk out to the beach from The Beach Place you are just up from the public beach area where the Drum Circle happens on on Sunday evenings. What a fun get together of all sorts of folks.
Leslie the owner is a local charm that sees to you. The atmosphere is a self serve setting with everything you need. Bring your own bathing suit BUT she has one for you if you forget...really!
A washer and dryer is available for free.
A small nice pool and a Tiki bar and grill are all there, again you set 'em up and use as if they are yours. AND 200 steps to the beach!
We come back every year (or so) and would not consider another place. This is the spot.
A good homey basic live your own life tropical experience. Call Leslie for more info and bookings. Expect basic self serve comfort and 200 steps to the beach!
Oh, wi fi free and sometimes a wee spotty signal, but OK(free).

Room Tip: Dolphin is a very large single room to sleep 4 (family) bed and fold out. Huge for 2. All rooms d...

I absolutely loved this place. It was so relaxing. It felt like home. It had everything you could need or want. Lots of toys, chairs, and unbrellas for the beach that is a hop skip and a jump away! It was close to everything. Great neighborhood to take walks or bike rides! ( bikes are also available for you to use) Super friendly and helpful staff. Fresh towels daily and laundry on site. A must have for my family! Wifi which is a must have for anybody these days. And as if that wasn't enough, a saltwater pool right outside your door with a tiki bar with fridge and cute tiki table. My husband and I totally enjoyed the pool area when the kids went to bed. We loved this rental and would definitely recommend it.

I found this place on Trip Advisor when we were looking for a one week vacation rental, and it was well worth it. There are newer and fancier places in the area which cost more but don't always have pool and laundry on site. We are a family of four and stayed in the Starfish unit. Full kitchen was great, lots of towels, beach chairs, bikes etc. It might be a little tight if you have older kids or a larger family but you can find a bigger cottage on the property if so: they have different size units.

The best thing about it is the location: 2 min right across the street from Sarasota Beach, possibly one of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen, with sand like talcum powder. You can walk to restaurants, just do so early in the evening if you have kids before it gets crazy with the party crowd. You can drive to some really gorgeous places for day trips: the Dali museum in St Petersburg was a big hit with us, as was the Mote Marine Aquarium.

Best of all, the owner Leslie is an amazing font of information about the area, especially restaurants. All her recommendations were great. Go and enjoy!
