Very friendly pub in a lovely village, good wholesome food, plenty of it, served hot and good value. Child friendly and plenty of parking. Lastly, great proper beer, a worthwhile visit.

We visited the picturesque village of Rennington on August Bank Holiday weekend to see the annual Scarecrow Festival.
Firstly Rennington itself is a lovely place. So pretty and quiet with a real community feel. There's plenty of nice things to look at and on scarecrow weekend it's extra special.
We stopped off at The Horseshoes Inn for a drink and to use the facilities. The drinks were very reasonably priced and service was very good. We sat outside and there were some lovely plants in the grassed area. Family and dog friendly place.
Overall there's a nice feel to the place and it's well worth stopping off here. We intend to go back for some food as we heard very good reports from a couple of people who were eating while we were there.
There's an added bonus that the pub participates in scarecrow weekend which is a bit of fun.

We had an evening meal here tonight and found the pub restaurant to be excellent as usual. We always make time to visit here a few times when we are in the area on holiday. This time was the first with our son and his fiancé. The beer was excellent, served by our friendly host, Mark. It was well kept and a good price, can recommend Farne Island. Our meal was excellent too with much local produce and a good choice of fish, meat and vegetarian options. I can certainly recommend the pâté and the chicken and tiger prawns. The food was well cooked, nicely presented and served by Louise who runs the pub with with Mark and their small staff. The place is friendly and with a very warm atmosphere for visitors and locals alike. We will certainly be back and would tell anyone who are in the area to visit too.

It is well worth leaving the main road and enter Rennington Village. From the outside the pub/restaurant looks quaint and small, and inside its just the same. We only tried it one lunchtime because of the comments on tripadvisor.
The pub lived up to the reviews we read. Mine hosts and their staff were very friendly. While the menu was limited there was a very good range - something for everyone. My wife's ploughman's had a very good selection of items, which were very taste. My lamb chops were the best ever, cooked just right and with plenty of meat.
Now planning to a return for an evening with friends, who also enjoy their food.

Called in to The Horseshoes, by chance for lunch-time refreshment, having been driven away from the coast villages crowds! Was I glad? The choice of meals on offer was varied, interesting and reasonably priced - fresh vegetables always get an extra 'star' from me! The local draught ale (Alnwick Gold) is well kept. Despite the 'shoes expecting an imminent 30-strong private party, the Manager/Owner and staff were friendly & willing to chat. I came away wishing I had a local half as good!
I won't hesitate to go again.

Thank you for taking the time to wright your review, as you said fresh veg is always a plus, we are now using one of the local farmers as a supplier of Broccoli, Potatoes, Cabbage, Turnips and Cauliflowers, picked in the morning and served to the customer in the evening you can't get fresher than that.
