"Best cod and chips for years",reports spouse when friends treat us at The Bell.

Sea bream with langoustine was my choice to follow a king prawns in a light tempura batter for starter.

The whole experience was just sublime and I wholeheartedly recommend a visit.

But you must reserve as other people seem to like The Bell as well.

My family and I stopped off at this lovely country inn hidden away in St Nichols-at-Wade It was a gloriously rare sunny bank holiday so we decided to eat in the garden area. The gardens were pretty with small buckets of flowers on each wooden table. There is a great little childrens play area with small climbing frame and slide. I chose sea bass fillet with seasonal vegetables and new potatoes £9.95, my family had the steak and ale pie peas and chips.£8.95 each The meat in the pies was plentiful and had a rich gravy, the pie crust was puff pastry and looked to have been cooked separately. There was a good amount of home made chips which were lovely and crispy. My Sea bass fillet was small but delicious and was perched on top of a spoon-full of greens and carrot sticks. Dressed with a lemon butter sauce garnished with a king prawn. Drinks are average priced a round for three was about £10. The staff are very friendly. The lavatory is nice and clean. All in all a great find and will come to eat at this inn again.

lovely food and atmosphere in a traditional Kent pub, with hops hanging from the ceiling and two bars to choose from.

Sunday roast is very good value as well
On a Sunday they also put out traditional snacks to enjoy which are always well received
