Well, we used to love to dine here every single year for the last 10 years but I guess we hit a bad night when the good chef wasn't working or else something else changed. Hopefully not permanently. We went on Christmas Eve and the limited menu was very pricey: $27 - $40 an entree. I asked if they could alter some of the dishes to accommodate my gluten intolerance and in all the years past they have had no problem with coming up with delicious options. The waitress was very nice and said she would check with the chef, returned to say that all I could eat was the cedar plank salmon with green beans, without any starch for $27 or prime rib with green beans for $33. Well, I figured they would at least give me an additional veggie but I was only given some of their tasty green beans - but not a double portion. The salmon was okay but nothing amazing. My daughter also a celiac - ordered the prime rib which was okay but not very flavorful. My husband ordered the prime rib too and said the same. My mother-in-law ordered a lobster appetizer-something in cream. It was just a huge pile of cheese with lobster and cream sauce. She loves things like this and said it was just way too much cheese and cream and she is the Cheese Queen. The waitress totally forgot to bring the escargot appetizer that we ordered for the GF and Lactose intolerant diners. And needless to say they didn't have any GF dessert options either. We were all very disappointed with our $147 (pre-tip)meal. We never went back - and in all the years past we dined there at least 3 times every Christmas break visit. Hope that this is not permanent issue as there are so few really good restaurants in the Sebring area. We used to love to go to Chicanes. Guess we will try it again next Christmas break but not on Christmas eve.
