Our first experience to see cars in action at a racetrack during a practice session. Interesting to see the cars line up and speed around, but really not much to see unless you are a car fan, which we are not. We went on the invitation of someone we met who belonged to the Porsche club and just mentioned that at the gate and signed a waiver and then it was free to go in. There is a museum there, but it didn't look like it was open. Of course, the big action is at the March endurance race.

I have been going to Sebring raceway, for the 12 hour race, off and on for over 30 years. The beauty of this track is that there are many places in which to watch the action. The ticket price includes walking access to the paddock so you can see the race cars up close. I always camp in the infield just like thousands of others. A 4 day ticket is $90 in advance and $105 at the gate. This year they raised the price to park your car in the infield to $40. If you have a motor home, it is $85 for general parking all the up to $900 for special parking along the fence. I know everything is getting more expensive, but this is getting way too expensive for the normal family. It is a great experience if you can afford it!

Race fans love it. You can get really close to feel the speed and blast your ear drums ! Pack a lunch and a cold beer, take a lawn chair and you're good to go.

Crowds are generally large for this annual event, but there are plenty of good places to view the race. Paddock area is open to the public and affords a close-up view of the cars and a chance to talk to drivers and crew. Weather is usually pleasant at this time of year.
