French cuisine at it's finest! Small place but big on ambiance from the checkered table cloths to the owner, Rick, making his way from table to table, accent and all. This food is super good and I oculd take a dip in the sauces that embellish the main courses. Salad is included with the entre' which is a nice touch. Tres, tres bon!!

This has been our favorite Sarasota restaurant since it opened nine years ago ( when we would drive over an hour to get here). We have never had a meal here that was less than perfect, and this week's visit was no exception. We started with the salmon fume, which was made wonderful by Michelle's characteristic tiny details: crispy, tiny, seasoned onions, a light perfect dressing, heavenly creme fraiche, and then enjoyed the crusty French bread and perfectly dressed salads, with a good Bordeaux, as Rick was out of the Chateauneuf-du-pepe ( still our favorite). For our meals, we had the cassoulet, and the filet mignon in bordelaise sauce, which is now our favorite area steak. I don't know how Michelle manages that tasty crust, over a melts in your mouth steak, but she cooks it perfectly every time. The cassoulet is not the dense, crusted, clay pot version that is so thick it will put you to sleep but a lighter version, with duck, sausage, and very high quality tabor beans. It's perfect for Florida. Michelle and Caesar, who has been with her in the kitchen since they opened, came out to say hello and check on the guests' meals, and Rick was as friendly as ever. No one hovers over your table, but they make sure you 're happy. It's just the right balance, as every night here, for us, is a date night. The people here are so nice, and the atmosphere so charming and unpretentious, that visiting this bistro really is just like having dinner at your favorite cousins' home in Marseille-- assuming one cousin is an extremely talented cook. This is why we come back here again and again. Everything about it is a genuine pleasure. This time, we were so eager to visit that we called a few hours before our reservation and asked if we could move it up an hour. Rick and Michelle just as graciously as can be, said sure, no problem. This is a small bistro with only 9 or 10 tables, yet they reserve them, 1 seating, to suit your needs, your timetable. It's just one small example of how they treat their guests and why they have an intensely loyal local following. Here, you are not just a visitor with a wallet, someone with pesky requests that have to be accommodated with a fake smile. You are a guest, in the best possible sense of the word, and it shows. We eat out a lot, and this is our absolute favorite restaurant.

Thank you very much for this awesome review. Michele and I, we love our customers, and like you said they are not a simple customer, and we don't give them a fake attitude or smile. Michele cooks like if you was at home, and she try to do the best since the first day we open our small bistro.
To have you like a customers is for us a great recompense and we appreciate your loyalty.
Thank you very much, we hope to serve you for longtime again .

This is a quaint little place. I recommend it for the experience, but the food and wine is pretty average. Most of the dishes served could easily be cooked at home.

Located in an unprepossessing strip mall on Siesta Drive in Sarasota this restaurant really delivers. The space is small with checkered oil clothed tables and Parisian memorabilia on the walls, you are transported to another place. The food is delicious. From Snapper Meuniere to Crevette a la Marseillaise and Filet Mignon. Everything just tastes so good. Reservations are essential as the space is limited and fills up fast. The house wine is also excellent. We have eaten here 8 times in the past 2 years and have always loved it. We will be back again next year. Exceptional food and good service in a cosy intimate space make a lovely night out.

This is exactly what we are trying to create since 10 years... a small and intimate French Bistro without any pretense than to serve you the best home made food, through a good and friendly service.
Thank you for your review and your compliments.

We were greeted warmly by Rick and his wife into this tiny treasure of a restaurant located in a small, unassuming small strip mall. The intimate bistro atmosphere added to the wonderful food we were served. We shared country pate served with warm French bread . My calves liver (the best I've ever had!) and my husband's filet, cooked to perfection, were excellent. Rick, his wife and, I guess, the chef all stopped briefly by our table to ask if all was OK....and it was. Granted we dined there in early April after many of the snow birds have flown away so the bistro wasn't very buys, but the service, food and atmosphere were perfect.
