PLEASE FOR YOU SAFETY DON'T GO TO THIS HOTEL , they stole my IPAD from my room and never did anything about it , even when I called and told them that I was able to track it down on my Iphone and that it showed that it was still in that area , I was thinking that the people that worked there were honest but no , after 3 days the Ipad never showed up !!! I made a police report and I been dealing with the corporate office , that didn't care I never got my Ipad , never got a refund not even an apology , so after my experience save a headache go to another hotel there is plenty .

You are close to various beaches without paying beachfront prices . It is also very close to the Van Wezel concert hall as well as other smaller theatre venues . The rooms are clean and quiet , especially if you get a room in the back . The breakfast includes make-your-own waffles , yoghurt and hard-boiled eggs , but the only fruit that was available were some apples. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: In the back is nice and quiet.

We've stayed at this La Quinta Inn a number of times, although not as frequently since I've discovered Priceline. It is, however, for those of us who are pet owners, and especially those of us who own BIG dogs, a lifesaver. We travel to Sarasota frequently to visit family and this hotel is one that, unlike a few others I can name [cough, holiday inn], has never disappointed us.

This La Quinta was formerly a Wellesley Inn but when La Quinta bought it they renovated so that it doesn't resemble its former self. It also doesn't resemble most other La Quinta inns I've been in. The floors are wood (or some wood like laminate) and the colors are very Florida like. The rooms are comfy with marble vanities, small refrigerators, microwaves, flat screen tvs and small sofas. Not a bad set up!

We checked in on this last visit and while checking in I was grumping to the front desk staff about our last visit to Sarasota when we'd had the utter misfortune to be at the holiday inn while a soccer tournament was housed in the hotel and the misery for other guests that that experience had been. She said "well, we'll show you a better experience" and upgraded us to a suite, which was very nice. The room itself overlooked Whittaker bayou (I believe) which leads into Sarasota bay. The only issue with the room was that the one door on the closet was off track and would not open, but otherwise the room was fine, very comfy bed, a/c system worked very well. Iron worked well (don't laugh, some more expensive places we've stayed have had crappy irons). The bathroom fan is quite loud but works efficiently. We have always found the rooms to be clean - otherwise, believe me we would NOT be staying there.

There was an issue with an alarm of some kind going off down the hall, which was annoying. My DH went to notify the front desk of it but they had already been told and most impressively (especially after staying other places that just don't take action) DID something to resolve the situation and the noise!

The location is very central to the airport to the north and downtown Sarasota and the beaches to the south. We don't typically eat at the breakfast buffet as Sarasota has a number of great breakfast spots where we'd much rather eat. There is a pool, but no hot tub, as well as an exercise room and washer/dryer. Debbie, one of the La Quinta staff who has been there for a while, checked us out very efficiently. This isn't the Ritz Carlton down the street, but having stayed there previously, will definitely say that the LaQuinta is a better value for the money.
