This was a lovely 1950's beach house property. As they say in Real Estate, Location, Location, Location... One block to beach, lovely sunsets, four blocks to Armand Circle for diners and shopping and 1.5 miles to Sarasota Sailing Squadron for the regatta. Perfect for our team's needs. This was our second stay here and we will be back next year.

The dictionary defiition of 'beau' is someone who is concerned with their appearance - just couldn't be further from the truth in this case - the place is a shambles - in the 3 nights we spent there I didn't see one member of staff - we tried to check in around 4pm - in fact if there had been someone in attendance we would have checked straight out again. The following morning we waited around but realised we were wasting a day so decided to soldier on.
I am a great user of Trip Adviser but really am disappointed when I see an office adorned with TA stickers declaring how great the establishment is (as in this case) only to find many of the other reviews MUST be pure fiction. (or more likely written by insiders)
Basically no amenities, furniture out of a Bates Motel era, very little hot water, the grounds are a disgrace and the service non-existant.
If you ignore my review be prepared for a long walk to the beach and to St Armands Circle (where you will be ripped off).

Room Tip: I spoke with other guests - they had the same opinion very poor standards

The Beau Lido is a short walk to the beach and St. Armand's Circle and is located in a lovely area of Lido Key. The room was clean, roomy, and the management was friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom house for a Christmas vacation. The hotel is perfectly located steps away from the soft sand beach. We were able to walk to downtown St. Armand circle for dinner each evening.
The hotel and house are set up with all your basic needs. It reminded me of old Florida. It's not fancy, but it's very nice. The housekeeping staff was very helpful and friendly.
We would definitely stay here again. The rates are so much cheaper than the much fancier condos and Holiday Inn and they met our needs. House has 2 bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with 2 twins. The twin beds had just been replaced. The king was fairly firm, but it was okay.

Room Tip: House is perfect for 4 people.

*This is not a luxury condo with room service*; lets just get that out there. This is a small little slice of old florida right on Lido Key. The building is literally a 3 minute walk from Lido Beach...at a slow pace. The rooms were clean and smelled just fine. The beds were ok, not the most comfortable but not terrible. My girlfriend and I originally were in one of the standard rental, which was more than enough room for the two of us with a king bed, breakfast nook, kitchenet, bathroom, hall closet, and armoir. The bed in the room turned out to be broken on the second night, I spoke with the one woman who keeps the place running, seriously this lady works her butt off to make this place as nice as possible and she is very friendly, and she upgraded us to a bigger room and apologized profusely for the broken bed. The airconditioning could freeze you out, full cable tv, plenty of hot water, the rooms were already pretty stocked with dish soap, papertowls, some dishes and silverware, coffee filters. All of this for $71.21 a night. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes to be close to a beach and doesn't mind not having a maid come every day. This really is a great little place!

Needed to get away for a few days so we decided to head to the Sarasota area which we have visited many times in the past. Decided on Beau Lido because of the close proximity to the beach and St Armands Circle. Before we left, I made it clear to my husband not to expect the Ritz Carlton. We arrived at the Beau Lido and our keys were waiting for us. Room was big and clean. Had everything we needed. Great to have full size refrigerator. Walking distance to St. Armands and stone's throw to beach. Made it easy to go back and forth for drinks and restroom. Beau Lido is in a mostly residential area, which is quiet. We tried lunch at the beach snack bar which gets rave reviews here. Were there on a Friday, so had the fish taco special. Was very tasty. If you are not looking for frills and fancy, but more for a great location, Beau Lido is a good choice.

We came upon Beau Lido Suites accidentally and based upon other reviews at this website decided to give it a try. We are hooked! From the marvelously mis-matched decor to the interesting artwork, the rooms are delightfully eclectic. A full size refrigerator, range and oven were a treat as we do love to be able to cook for ourselves. But the BEST aspect is the location - across the street from fabulous Lido Beach and a short walk to St. Armand's circle. If you enjoy a funky little place with all the necessities, you will not be disappointed.
