This place is beautiful!! The wildlife you see there is not typical of the city and made our visit that much better. We love that there are lots of trees to let us get out of the sun for a while during the hot summer. We will be back and soon!

South Lido Park is a very nice place to BBQ or Picnic and fish or swim. There is a playground for the kids and lots of stationary grills picnic tables spread out around the park for anyone to use. If you are looking to use the park on a Holiday however, you better get there really early (like 8am)

My husband and I ventured to the park to watch the sunset. The previous night we went to the public beach which was fine, but a little crowded. At Lido Park, we were among a handful of people as it is on the very southern tip of the island. The sand is amazingly soft, and the beach is pristine: footprints are hard to find, but whole and beautiful shells and sand dollars aren't. If you want a quiet, unobstructed sunset experience, this is the place! Just beware, it's not great for swimming as there is a strong current!

The Park lies between the gulf and big pass so there is lots of water, good shady picnic area and nice trails. The gulf side has a lot of flat beach for nice walking, the big pass side can have fast water and is not a place to be in the water, but is OK for fishing.

The park is relatively small, and the current through the pass is not a place for kids to play without supervision or for adults to be in the water except at the far upper end of the park.

A very nice park for families along the Golf of Mexico. It is very close to wonderful Lido Beach. Please do not allow children to swim there as there is dangerous currents and under tow. The main beach is very close by and much safer for everyone.
