The nature walks are really quite unique with well-maintained pathways and bridges. The beach is not great for swimming and it was too cold when we were there, but there are lots of shorebirds and shells and abundant free parking. The washrooms are getting a little tired, even for a beach.

Decided to take our large group (17) kayaking on our last day staying on Siesta Key. Had a great time and a great guide kayaking around the islands and into the mangrove tunnels. On a sunny day, make sure you are covered. Easy to burn! Our youngest in the group was 10 and he did great in a tandem kayak with his dad. Nice activity to add to a Florida vacation.

My husband and I visited this beach on a day when there was a storm rolling in over the water. It was beautiful, albeit a little chilly, but it was picturesque.

This is the place to go if you want to enjoy a beach and park without the hassleof crowds, and there's no hassle finding a parking spot. Hard to believe it's so close to St. Armand's Circle, yet so far the crowds. There is a lovely walk through the area which is generally empty ! You'll see the odd racoon and squirrel, and a heron or pelican or two. NO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS ! The racons are fun to watch, but should not be encouraged, and if you try to feed the squirrels that will simply attract the 'coons ! Picnic tables and washrooms and a water hoses to wash off the sand - perfect.
