Small but cozy rooms. Like a very personal B&B. We only missed the breakfast and please do change the locks to some of the rooms.

The rooms are different sizes, and we had the smallest, but it was clean, neat, tidy. Because it was small, we spent time on the porch that had rockers. Everyone else staying there seemed friendly, but not "in your face." People generally used the patio area (which is 30-40 feet from the building) for socializing.

The check-in system is a bit odd. There is no office on-site....just a sign with a phone number to call. The cleaning lady spent a lot of time in the patio area smoking. There was a grill in the patio area, but it seemed not to work....we saw two different people/groups fooling with it, seemingly without success.

Room Tip: Make sure there is heat/AC control in your room. Our room's control was in the room next door...

We have been going to Lido Beach area for several years. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn but were traveling with our son and daughter in law, so we decided to save everyone some money and find a place to share. We ended up at the Lido Islander in a 2 bedroon unit.

The location is great because you are an easy walk to the beach and to the Circle at St Armends - the two reasons we love this area. It's also nice to have a kitchen so that you don't have to go out for meals all the time.

The only complaints are that the internet was very poor and the area that they designate for smokers was right outside our door. I need good interent so that I can spend an hour or two a day/evening staying in contact with my office and customers - the internet was pretty much useless so that created a definite problem. With the layout of the doors to the first floor units, you basically stand in the smokers area to get in and out of your unit. Not a big issue if there is no one taking a smoke break, but if they are, you are within a few feet as you stand and lock/unlock your door and/or are carrying things in and out of your unit.

this vacation rental was wonderful. our room was immaculate, the bed was comfy and we loved the "beach chic" decor done in a soothing ocean palette. the rate per night was a great value and the location was about 2 blocks from the one of the most beautiful beaches we've ever visited. AND it was only 3 blocks from st. armand's circle. the lido islander will not be everybody. there's no pool, front desk, and no daily cleaning service. the other guests can be heard at times from the rooms. BUT if you want a great value, spotless room, fabulous location and don't require frills-you will love this place. we loved it! and will definitely go back.

The image and map may not be where you stay. As another mentioned, my room was 8 blocks further away. Not bad but much further from St Armands than indicated by map. I stayed in unit 24. It is a large studio with kitchenette. Wireless worked no problem. The room was clean and well furnished. It is not fancy but has old school florida charm. The less than great aspects were the jalousie windows and lack of heat on a windy night that dropped into the high 40's. The small space heater helped but the room is not well sealed and there was not an extra blanket in sight. All the electric is rigged for the old building. When I went to unplug and move the heater, the plug was so overheated it burned my hand. I loaded every towel and my car blanket on the bed for warmth. The bed is a king but has a big dip in the middle. The front door doesn't close very securely and there is a very creepy mirror in the shower (2way?). As a single woman I would prefer a secure door and no mirror in my shower! They were nice about me checking out an hour late. Overall, the place needs some TLC and maybe a visit from code enforcement.

This is a beach rental rather than a hotel. If you are interested in being a short walk to the beach and a short walk to fabulous St. Armands Circle's shops restaurants and bars, and are willing to give up luxury - this is your spot. The room was clean and bed was great. Management could step it up a bit and offer a better experience. (Hardware on drawers and supplies in the room) Husband and I were in a little room for a long weekend, and it was fine. If you are staying for a longer stay, I'd recommend a little more square footage. We were aware of the rates in this area, and were delighted with the value.

Room Tip: Our room was 200 sq ft, and accurately described in the listing. A little snug but OK for us for th...

The location, the price, the ambience were all superior. We had a wonderful time and can hardly wait to return. The staff was accomodating and the pool made a wonderful place to relax and visit with our guests. The accomodations had everything we needed. The bed was sagging and I wish it had a mattress pad for hygiene's sake. The room got sandy and we had no mop or bucket to clean up only a tiny broom. Otherwise, it was perfect.
