Description: The Grasshopper Lounge opened it's doors in 1971 by owners Jesse and Cleo Rosales in Downtown Adrian, Michigan. There, my family acquired the other half of the structure and "El Chapulin the Tex Mex Restaurant" was launched. Still in business and operated by our entire family, we have since opened a second location in Wauseon, Ohio and our third in Sarasota, Florida. Grandma's secret: prepare everything in small batches, so we never jeopardize the art form of our food.

We went for lunch and just picked this place as we were driving by. Great choice. Service was good as the food. Great prices. $2 beers and $3 margaritas. Very nice. Next time we do Mexican we will be going to The Grasshopper.

Being from Southern California, I continually miss and search for truly authentic Hispanic food. Since this is a new restaurant and we traveled about 30 miles to "try it", I am very happy and glad to report GIVE IT A TRY!!! I ordered ala carte in order to try a variety of items--pork enchalada with red sauce, tamale with meat sauce, and a choriso taco. All were excellent as were the chips and salsa. The beer (Does Equis on tap) and Margarita were excellent too. Just remember that all truly authentic food has a "regional flavor" and taste, so don't be disappointed if you taste some different flavors. We also met Dino one of the owners who was delightful to talk with, and explained the recipes used come from his family in Texas when it was a Lone Star State.

Being from the SW we have tried a lot of them in the area and none have compared to The Grasshopper. Great tamales, made from real masa and pork, and great prices. Enjoy !!

We are locals and love mexican food. This restaurant is the only mexican restaurant in the area so we had to try it. The food is good. We've tried the shrimp tacos, enchiladas, tex mex chili dog and a few others. The service is not very great. The wait staff and bartenders are inexperienced and take forever to get your order even if there are only 2 tables. The first time I went I had a good classic margarita, the second time I had a syrupy stawberry margarita. It was supposed to be on the rocks. Not so great...But we will return because it is close to home and the food is good. Maybe more take-out than dining in due to the service.

We went with our daughters Sat. night to a great new find... Dino, the owner graciously ushered us into his new restaurant.. Our waitress Bianca, was a delight... such a wonderful girl from UK.. We started with the $3 margaritas which were awesome.. add in some homemade guacamole and chips, some great latin music and we had a party! The food was wonderful.. we sampled the tamales, burritos, quesadillas, shrimp tacos and the adventuresome in our group tried the delicious soup.
We were stuffed but ended up sharing the fried cheesecake tortilla with chocolate that Bianca said was great. and it was.. back to the diet! We will be back often.. there are a lot of great Mexican restaurants in town but this new one is fun, very inexpensive... $2.99 shrimp taco!!!!! and should be a favorite for families and foodies too!
