We have had pizza and beer here a few times. It is convenient, has close parking and is a friendly-feeling casual restaurant. The menu is typical local Italian/pizza, with red checkered tablecloths etc. Limited draft beer list..but a surprisingly wide selection of bottled craft beers. Pizza isn't the best, but acceptable. Stick with small or maybe medium as they do not get the crust fully cooked on the large. Hot Italian sandwiches are pretty good, as expected in this type of establishment. They are going to start Sunday jazz in January 2013.

I frequently eat here before going to theatres in the area. The menu is heavily Italian, with pizzas and pastas, along with salads, soups, and sandwiches. The quality of the pizza is inconsistent, but usually good. Prices are reasonable. Service depends upon the server. Some are quick and helpful, others turn a blind eye to the waves of patrons. It is helpful to mention that one has a theatre date. The terrazzo floor and large crowds make it very noisy. Persons seeking more quiet should choose the outdoor tables. Parking is insufficient for the number of customers. The restaurant has a party room on the second floor and a large bar popular with near-by residents.

Lousy, soggy and undercooked pizza. Sandwiches and subs had very little meat(all bread). Expensive drinks, zero atmosphere and NO parking. (friends of ours car was towed).

Living in Sarasota we have eaten several times at Broadway Bar. I have read some reviews for "bad pizza". My husband and I have only eaten pasta which is Lasagna, Eggplant, and Spaghetti and Meatballs. Each meal we have ordered comes piping hot with a warning to not touch the plate....My husbands favorite is the Lasagna that has loads of meat sauce and melted mozzarella cheese over the top. Mine is the Eggplant Parmigiano. It comes similar to the lasagna but instead of noodles the eggplant. They also give us homemade garlic toast. Meals are moderately priced at around $ 8.99. They also have happy hour in which well drinks and beer are specially priced. (I believe the "Happy Hour" is until 6PM) On Sunday nites they feature a Jazz Band after 6. The music is fabulous . Along with the food it is a wonderful dinner experience.
