Description: Serving Sarasota for Over 25 years! The Old Salty Dog first opened its door for business in Siesta Key Village back on November 1st 1986. The owners original concept was to take a small popular village beer and hot dog stand and turn it into a casual Restaurant and Pub. They have mixed the best of the Florida Keys and their British heritage to create a fun family environment that is appealing to people from all walks of life. There are now 2 locations and they are patronized not only by their many regular local customers and characters but they also enjoy abundant new and repeat business from all over the United States and from around the World.

“Love sitting out on the deck overlooking the bay”

By all means opt for the bay side seating with a view of the New Pass. Their food is always top notch and their drink specials run constantly. Featured on Man vs Food, it is always good for out of towners.

“Good fish and chips”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 9, 2013

Ate here one evening after a visit to St Armand's Circle. Both of us had the fish and chips, which was cod, fried in a lovely crispy batter. Prices and service were about average. The building itself is nothing special but it does have a nice outlook over the water. On a previous visit we both had a burger which was also good. Would visit again.

“Fun in the Sun in Long Boat Key, but average overall”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013

Worth a visit, if in Long Boat Key, but don't have high expectations. Nothing really that special (food, service etc), but nicely located, popular & busy place. The energy level is high among both the patrons and the staff. Beer is cold enough.

“Best Burger”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 31, 2013

A marina restaurant brings to mind good seafood. But this place has the best hamburger! We drive from Tampa on occasion when having a craving for a really good burger. The atmosphere is hard to beat!!! Who doesn't love sitting out on the water while eating?!

“One of Our Favorite "Haunts"”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 24, 2013

When was the last time you ate in a bait shop? Well, believe it or not, this is one of the best "seafood shacks" on the Atlantic seabord. Must try the fish and chips, but there is good fare for the landlubber or kids in the family. Get your food and take a seat outside at the edge of the dock and watch the anglers come in to have their catches cleaned by their guides. Great seaside experience!
