Michael's On East was one of only ten restaurants in the nation to be inducted into the 2009 Nation's Restaurant News Fine Dining Hall of Fame, considered the Oscars of the restaurant industry, and received their 26th consecutive AAA Four-Diamond Award in 2015 - one of only two restaurants in Florida with this distinction. The restaurant's intimate aura, along with its contemporary fare, world-class wine cellar and incomparable service, create an unparalleled dining experience that will give you every reason to keep coming back.

Wondrous Continental cusine always prepared perfectly. Share a starter and a dessert and salad as the entrees are ample. Lovely wine list. Exceptionally comfortable surroundings. Return seasonally.

We attended a family wedding receptioin here in July. The atmosphere was festive, the service was amazing given the amount of people, the food was amazing, bartenders and servers were courteous, and most attentive. Fun and memorable for everyone involved.

A great Happy Hour in a fine restaurant. The music is great and the appetizers are just fine. A very relaxing place to spend some time with your special lady.

My hubby and I and another couple went to Michael's on Friday, August 1st for happy hour. We got there early and sat in the piano bar, directly behind the piano. The service was excellent (ask for Steven) and even as the bar got busier, very attentive. The ambiance was really nice - upscale but not pretentious. The cocktails were fabulous! Among us we had the house sparkling wine, a strawberry, champagne martini, a raspberry, white chocolate martini, a mojito, and wine. (No, we weren't driving!) For food, we decided to do a number of small plates. The oysters, while a bit pricey, were well worth it! They were among the best oysters I've ever had in my life. We also had the mussels (yum!), beef sliders (fantastic), Thai chicken wings (Sloppy, but great), duck egg rolls, and the lemon poppyseed tempura shrimp (which were more like prawn, enormous and delicious). I can not say anything but good things about the food, the cocktails and the service. As to the folks below me that said it was noisy, I have to disagree. We were literally sitting directly behind the pianist and didn't even have to raise our voices above conversational levels. The noise level was completely appropriate and, by the way, the pianist was great and the music very nice and light. He does take requests as well. Our bill for all the food and beverages came to $224, or about $56 per person. Not an every day place for our budget, but definitely a special occasion splurge that is very much worth it. I'd highly recommend Michael's on East and plan to go back again when I am in Sarasota.

Went to this sarasota classic for the first time and it was even better than the reviews. Who would think a strip mall would have 5 star dining? Well obviously Sarastoians know. Finally got a chance to try this long time classic and it was as to the moment as if it had just opened. Had one of the best rib eye steaks ever, and i don't say that lightly being a New yorker and knickerbocker and Peter Luger habitué .
Service was impeccable and menu was varied and hard to choose. Great piano bar and packed on a wednesday night at 7:30- Wait staff couldn't have been more knowledgable or helpful, noise level for dining was perfect for conversation and just a pretty room. A definite return again many times place.
