We "discovered" The Hob Nob a few years ago when we started visiting Siesta Key twice a year. Just back from 2 weeks down there and squeezed in 3 Hob Nob visits! Some day we'll try other things on the menu but we both enjoy the burgers and keep forgetting to "branch out". The rings are great--try the horseradish dipping sauce. The fries are okay--fresh cut fries would be more authentic! The shakes are marvellous--but do mention if you want no marachino cherry topping a blast of whipped cream on top. Or have your burger with a beer. Yes, your forearms may stick a little to the picnic table tops (not because they aren't wiped down; more likely because the heat/humidity does a number on the varathane layer). The service is always great--attentive, friendly, unhurried and yet speedy. (They remember from one visit to the next my partner's like of malt vinegar for the fries and "automatically" bring it to the table.) I just read through some reviews where one or two people had concerns about the neighbourhood. We two middle-aged women have never felt unsafe during daylight, early evening, dusk. No, I can't say that it's the place I'd head to after dark--but I can't think of any roadside, open-air burger joints at a busy intersection I'd head to after dark. Go to The Hob Nob. Be happy.
