I had clients for lunch and the atmosphere, street seating availability, Italian waiters and excellent Italian food made it a great experience worth repeating.

“Great place for a gracious lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2013

Wanting to take some hard working colleagues out for a thank you lunch, i remembered my last group lunch at Caragiulos and knew that would be the spot! Reservations were easy - our server was great and the food was delicious! The setting, ambiance and service far outwieghs the prices! Everyone had a great time - confirming that this is the spot for a delicious, relaxing meal in a luxurious setting.

“Poor service and unimaginative menu”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 1, 2013

I am really floored by some of the wonderful and good reviews written on this restaurant. I am a resident in this town and are well aware of all of the restaurant offerings. We don't typically come here because we do not find the menu at all interesting. It seems as if they have not updated it in years. Even chain Italian restaurants have more creative choices. We (4 of us) found ourselves here the other nite because of a power failure in another part of town and we needed to have dinner before seeing a show. We came into the restaurant whose indoor seating was totally empty (other diners on the patio) and told our waitress at 6:20 PM that we had a show to catch and needed to be out by 7:20 PM. She said "no problem, you have one hour." We ordered simple dishes (3 salads and 1 pasta dish). At 6:55 PM we still had not received our food and the waitress said "the kitchen is busy and it is not her fault." In the meantime, other people who came in way after us were already eating. When we brought this to management's attention, they just looked at us blankly and offered no apology. We had to then leave and scurry to find a sandwich place to get something to eat. I would never give this restaurant another chance at my business. They were very unprofessional and have no customer service.

Hello Stephen,
So sorry to hear that you had an unpleasant experience at our restaurant. Our family and staff works hard every night to make our guests feel like famly and our 25 years in business serving our friends in this community marks this. It is true that there was a power outage on Main Street the night you were in. Although it was fortunate for us on Palm Avenue that we did not lose power, we did unexpectedly receive a wave of people wanting to dine with us that evening. So, I apologize if our service and timing was not up to standard that evening. We hope that you will allow us another opportunity to "wow" you with some of the "not so tradional Italian-American" items on our menu; like our Gorgonzola & Walnut Mousse with Amarena Cherry Jam appetizer; or the Crispy Maple Farms Duck with grilled peaches & broccoli-rabe entree; or our Pizza Bella Bionda with roasted garlic-ricotta crust, pancetta, roma tomatoes & fresh arugula (my favorite). Although we update our menu items seasonally, we strive to adhear to our patrons requests for old-time favorites, as well. As you can imagine, or not, is always a difficult task.

Best regards,
Rob Caragiulo

“fabulous first night!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 30, 2013 via mobile

My girlfriend told me about this restaurant. She had been there several times. We went tonight and had Petra as our server. She was wonderful. The food was excellent. We had a cheese and salami board as an appetizer with a great bottle of Chianti. For our entrees we had pork Osso Bucco and veal piccata. All were wonderful. However, everything was made even better by the great service from Petra. She was from Eastern Europe and we had a great conversation with her. When I first went in I figured it was just another Sarasota tourist restaurant. However, it exceeded all expectations. I will be back in spring when we come back for Spring Training. Thank you Petra.

“Worth a try”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2013 via mobile

We were out of towners and wanted to enjoy abit of Italian while here in Sarasota. Once we found the place after several wrong turns, and slim parking oportunities, we were ready to enjoy a little wine and pasta. The service was good especially for a busy Friday night and were pleased with the quick seating. The salads werw geeat. I enjoyed a nice simple yet fresh Ceasar salad while the misses had a delicious fresh house salad. For the main course she had here usual Eggplant Parmasian, but the real star of the dinner was the Tortelini with Vodka sauce. Theirs was one of the freshes pastas I have enjoyed in recent memory. Stuffed with a braise beff it was to die for.
