“Very good overall”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

This restaurant is very good. The waiters are very friendly. I suggest the fish, it was excellent. The bread too. I would recommend avoiding the shrimp scampis as they were tasteless. Overall very good experience, nice ambiance and service.

“Stone Crabs For All My Friends !”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Crab & Fin, fabulous place to see and be seen, and the food is outrageously yummy. There is outdoor seating if that is what you prefer, and inside there is a bit more formality, but not at stuffy or snooty.

Most recently, my young adult daughter, who is mildly intellectually challenged, and I dined at the Crab & Fin. She is a little loud, and the couple next to us sneered and complained to the staff. The restaurant staff told the couple that everyone was welcome at the Crab & Fin, and offered them another table.

The waiter gave my young adult daughter a great deal of attention, complimented her dress, told her what a great smile she had. It really made the evening special for the two of us.

Now for the food: Soft shell crab is only available certain times of the year. Good news: Stone Crab is available year round !

Elegant dining without being hoity-toity !

“Nice relaxing lunch outside with piano”
Reviewed July 10, 2013 via mobile

Alaskan king crab 1/2 lb was $26 and tasted excellent the Cajun prawns were OK as we're the wife's mushroom and daughters Chicken. The ambiance was nice with the guy playing piano and the waiter was attentive. St Armands Circle is a lovely place to pay a visit.

“Very Disappointed”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

A very nice restaurant from the appearance. In a trendy area of St. Amand's Circle in Sarasota. My wife ordered a shrimp salad and I had a seafood pasta dish. Mine was OK, but tasteless. Her shrimp were warm and appeared to be boiled with no seasoning at all. The lettuce was warm and wilted as if it had been sitting on a counter since lunch service (it was 7:00 when we sat down). She said the dressing was also warm and tasteless.

My wife refused to eat her salad even with additional dressing. The waitress was surprised but courteous and took her meal off the bill even though we did not ask that she to do so.

“Great Seafood on St. Armands Circle”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We visited this place for dinner over the 4th of July weekend. The restaurant has been there for 3 decades, and that's saying something in the restaurant business, but, it says even more as the clientele in this area demand good food and service. The location is ideal, right on the circle. The inside is warm, upscale and intimate. They offer outdoor seating as well, however tonight we ate inside.

The service was great, wine list above average, and the server was knowledgeable about both the food and the wine. We had two great bottles of Mollydooker's the 'Matre'd', and the server even knew about the Mollydooker Shake. Wow... impressed!

We had a variety of dishes, all of which were done well. Of particular mention were the Oysters. Wow, great selection and all tasted amazing. We got the large sampler platter with Oysters from 5 different regions. Very nice. The Alaskan King Crab legs; very large and meaty. Many times you get AKC at some restaurants and they serve these anemic legs about 1/2 inch in diameter. Not here. My daughter had the poached black cod, and, while it was a bit bland and could have done with more seasoning, it was cooked perfectly. Her boyfriend had the macadamia crusted salmon, and was tasty and also cooked perfectly. My wife had the Tuna Tataki as an appetizer, which was very well done and they did a Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pasta for her main course. This was a special request since my wife actually only likes tuna on the fish side. The dish was not that great, but hey, they were very accommodating, and it was off the menu.

Can't go wrong with a meal at this venerable establishment.
