One of my favorite restaurants on the circle. Great atmosphere, great service and good food. Love to eat in the bar area (small bar) but wonderful bartenders.

Two of four of our meals were not so good. Swordfish overcooked, chewy, dry and overwhelmed with the tomato sauce they cover it with. In all fairness the other two in our party enjoyed their meal. Having literally hundreds of restaurant choices in Sarasota, we probably won't return.

We had our anniversary dinner in June 2012 and had nothing but praise for the meal and the service. We returned again on June 24th, 2013 escorting friends from NJ and were very optimistic that this would be another memorable and great dining experience. Much to the contrary 2 out of the 4 main entrée dishes were very disappointing and the waiter was somewhat of a stranger to the table by not visiting to check out needs. He did not observing drink needs and was reminded several times to refill water glasses. We had to call out loud to get his attention. The Red Snapper was like a 'piece of rubber' and the Grouper was cooked until it was dry. My guest asked for more sauce that accompanied the fish just to make the fish a bit more tastier and moist. The appetizers were great and the 'Early Bird special rates are most appreciated, however the overall impression was a big disappointment for this St. Armands restaurant.

This area of Sarasota is buzzy in the early evening. We chose on menu, cost and the availability of an outside table; the menu is comprehensive and we had high expectations based on previous reviews. Sadly, we were disappointed on two counts.
The food did not rise above average: it's hard to disappoint with a Caesar salad but this did with a cloying dressing. Indeed, the high speed at which the appetizers appeared told us they were pre-prepared and not made to order. So be it, but at these prices give us a chance to relax and enjoy our cocktails and the experience of dining.
What followed was the cardinal sin of bringing the entrée before two of the party of four had finished the first course. No excuse: the restaurant was not full and there was no weather system heading in from the Gulf. Whatever goodwill we had brought to the establishment dissipated at this point. Mains were moderate and reasonable in quantity, but by now our intent was to complete the course and pay the bill. Whether the problem was the inability of the kitchen or of our server we did not ascertain, nor by now did we care.
Conclusion: for a satisfying and cost-effective meal head over the bridge into Sarasota and avoid this overpriced and overhyped area. We did on a subsequent evening, to our great advantage.

We hadd a Girl's Weekend at the beach and decided to have one night at a really nice restaurant and was told this was a good resaurant for seafood. We expected it to be pricy but the food was mediocre. Three of us ordered the Shrimp Alfredo. It was good but that was all I can say about it. For a $26 pasta bowl, we expected much more. They did not skimp on the shrip but the sauce was very thin and plain. We ordered appitizers and received a huge laugh by all of us. Too bad we were not told that the appitizers would not be enough to be shared. The Bacon wrapped scallops and shrimp consisted of ONE scallop and TWO shrimps for $12. The presentation was beautiful and it tasted great. Too bad we had to cut everthing up into fours. If you are dining with your spouse and want an expense dinner and a bottle of wine, this is the place to go. It is a beautiful place! But I would not bring a large family here under any circumstances. It is all atmosphere.
