Description: Family-owned and operated for over 112 years, Columbia has earned acclaim for its old-world charm and award-winning Spanish/Cuban cuisine and wine list. Casual attire is fine, but we don't allow sleeveless shirts on men. Join us for century-old family recipes like Paella "a la Valenciana," Filet Mignon "Columbia," and fresh seafood specialties. Don't miss Columbia's Original "1905" Salad(R), prepared tableside with our delicious, freshly-made dressing, a 100-year-old family recipe of fresh garlic, oregano, wine vinegar and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. Be sure to sample a fine Spanish wine like Torres, Montecillo or Campillo. Relax outdoors on our patio, or inside our Mediterranean-style dining rooms filled with hand-painted tiles and family heirlooms. We are a sister to the Columbia in Tampa's Ybor City, founded in 1905. Children's menu available. Open 365-days a year, including all holidays.

Very nice restaurant, right on the street front. Indoor and outdoor dining. Outside is set up on the sidewalk. Service is excellent and attentive. Food is great and portions are large enough to share.

Took my girlfriend on a date here while visiting Sarasota. We visited Saint Armands Circle for the first time, took one look at Columbia Rest. from across the street and decided that was where we had to eat. We were told there would be a 20 minute wait but were seated in 5 min. on the patio -- a great place for people watching and soaking up the warm breeze of September. The speciality drinks (mojito, sangria) ware excellent. The muscle appetizer was OK (not the right time of year for PEI muscles apparently). We shared two entries, which were exceptional. Our server was also exceptional. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and had a lively and pleasant personality. It is a pleasure to be served by someone who is passionate about his work. Some consider the restaurant to be pricey, but we thought it very reasonable considering the quality.

Stumbled upon this restaurant and glad we tried it. Nice atmosphere with open air tables and attractive decor. The menu is huge and I liked reading the descriptions and history of all the dishes. The 1905 salad was really tasty...would highly recommend it. They have lots of fun drinks like mojitos and sangria which they make table side when you order a pitcher. They also do some of the other items, like the 1905 salad table side, which is a fun touch.

You get a small loaf of warm Cuban bread to start...yum! My husband enjoyed his lobster & seafood cannelloni. My Mahi Mahi was a bit over cooked and bland, but OK. The key lime pie for dessert was excellent...tart & creamy!

Service was excellent...friendly, professional, & efficient. One of the other servers heard me asking about gluten free options and he even stopped over to give me some tips on dishes and other places in town to try.

We're definitely going back for lunch while we're in town. We want to try the Cuban sandwiches!

I came here with friends that live in the area and even they said this place used to be much better. Service was good but the food was just ok. Definitely nothing to rave about anymore but I guess once upon a time this place was amazing. Maybe someday it will be back to it's former glory.
