Visited Sarasota with my 82 yr old father and his 92 year old girl. This is her fav. Got there for the early bird dinner at 4:30. Yes they do eat early in this part of Florida. The fish was fresh and well prepared, though the grilled samon and tilapia were rather bland (wife and I wondered if this was to carter to the older clientel) but you can order several sauces to kick it up a notch. Bang Bang shrimp appitizer are coated shrimp ith a nice tang. Try the grilled asperagus as a side. The waitstaff knows how to gently handle old folks who don't see or hear so well. About $90 for four entres, appetizer and a copuple of beers. Good place to bring your grandmother.

The Bang Bang Shrimp and a Shrimp/Sea Scallops/Kalamata Olives/Feta Cheese in a Lime Chile sauce says it all - Wonderful and quite filling.

We had dinner there last week, and while usually very good at other locations (first time at this restaurant) it just was not up to the usual standards. The tuna appetizer was good and well cooked, but a steak ordered by a non-fish eater was tough and had little flavor. The Bang Bang Shrimp were only fair (too bad because they are usually a favorite) and were far more heavily sauced than I have seen before. This made them kind of soggy and on the greasy side; I was much more conscious of the breading and sauce than the taste of the shrimp and the usually well-balanced blend of shrimp and sauce. The heart of palm salad was not a great showing either; which a smaller than usual portion with a limp and small heart of palm. A grilled fish dish was just okay; not up to the usual standards.

The place was crowded and the staff seemed harried, so possibly it was just an off night. It was not the usual predictible quality for this chain. Nothing truly terrible, I guess, but it was very average, which was too bad. I might try another location of this same chain in the area....

You know when you talk about the best meal you have ever eaten, the one you would order if you had 24 hours to live? You can be sure to find it at Bonefish! The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff were unbelievably attentive and helpful, the beer was frosty. But the food...nowhere on earth have we ever had such delicious, delectable, divine meals. The steaks were perfect, the fish was fabulous, the deserts were to die for. Congratulations to a brilliant chef, a brilliant restaurant...br

This has been one of our favorite local restaurants for a few years. The dinner was only fair compared to the regular Bonefish experience. The server was a little slow and the two fish specials we ordered were very ordinary and okay, but overpriced. The hot bread is always good and the house salad with pine nuts and hearts of palm still can't be beat. The Pompano fish was overlooked and very dry so needed to be sent back, and although the new dish was a little better, it was still dry and rather bland. Since it needed to be recooked they gave a complimentary bowl of chowder which was better than the entree. The Dory fish was in a tomato lime sauce but a pretty small portion and needed more seasoning or coating because it tasted too plain. The succotash garnish is not a real favorite and I can see trying to keep costs down, but really, succotash? This isn't a diner menu with diner prices. You are better off with the regular menu like trout which is a pretty large portion and you can even share. Avoid the specials! A lot of the fish is just dressed up with sauce. Their bar drinks are very good, order a martini... their cosmopolitans are super! They have good wines too. There is usually a wait, so call for a reservation. Try for a booth in the bar or you might end up sitting near a large party or near tables with kids. Stick with the most popular dishes like bang bang shrimp appetizer or mussels or calamari. We will probably go back but will just avoid the overpriced specials.
