“Give me shelter”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

My husband and I arrived in Sarasota during Spring Break. It was the only night of our 6-day vacation we had not booked a room. The Sarasota Visitor Center was diligent in helping us find a room and, the new Comfort Suites, having just opened 4 weeks before was not only the only hotel with availability but a great place to spend the night. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the price was quite reasonable.
Due to construction on the streets and roads adjacent to the hotel we quickly realized we would not be able to walk the 1/4 mile to the nearby restaurants as the pedestrian lights did not function and traffic was too heavy for 2 Babyboomers to try to make a dash, so we walked back to our car and drove over. And that was our only negative experience.

We were disappointed that the only place where we could find a room for two nights was at this new hotel but as it would give us the opportunity to visit Sarasota we took it. Little did we know beforehand what a find it would be. Just off I-75, a straight run to Siesta Key. and easy access to wherever we wanted to go -- our room was terrific, the staff were all very friendly and ready to attend to our needs, and the hot breakfast included with our room was outstanding. As it was high season we found the traffic to Siesta Key so congested we gave up but a recommendation by one of the desk clerks saved the day by suggesting the beach on Lido Key which was much easier to access with the directions they gave us. In two days we were able to visit the Ringling grounds, the waterfront around the Bay, the beaches of Lido Key and Siesta Key, explore the shops on St. Armand's Circle, watch our ice cream treats being made at SubZero, and..... all thanks to the help the staff gave us. It was our first visit to Sarasota but it certainly won't be our last and the same holds true for this terrific hotel. They go out of their way to make one's stay perfect.

As we were checking out we were asked how we enjoyed our stay. My wife said: "it was perfect".
This is a newer hotel which is a big plus. It's well designed. We had a west facing room on the 3rd floor. So we had nice sun in the afternoon and evening and none in the am. The rooms are nicely outfitted and very clean. Nice bedding. Very quiet. LED TV's with Direct TV, etc.
The heated pool is small but adequate. The hot tub is nice ... not overly hot. Both get good sun for most of the day and evening since they are west facing.
The breakfast was fairly typical. A nice touch are the Grab N Go bags to take with you if you are in a hurry and can't stay for breakfast.
Overall a pleasant experience.

Room Tip: I'd ask for a room looking out to the west. Remember the Grab N Go Bag in case you don't h...

I came in March to visit my Mom who lives in Sarasota during season. I was so impressed with my experience. It exceeded expectations on every level!! The rooms were clean, the lobby is beautiful (love the tropical fish) and its a stone's throw from some great attractions and dining options. I was touched by the eagerness of the staff to serve and accomodate. They all seem to genuinely love to serve...especially Taylor, Joshua and Aleta! Id recommend it to my family and friends in a heartbeat.

We had a good stay here. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We were here for the grand opening party, which was great with free appetizers and drinks. The hotel was quiet with nice rooms. The elevator is slow and makes an annoying doorbell sound which is not necessary when it arrives on each floor. You can take the stairs as there are only 3 floors. Please get rid of the sound.
Just a few suggestions for the breakfast area. The woman was extremely slow with refilling items and served luke warm items at 7AM on the morning of April 6th. We think her name was Tracy. She didn't say good morning and had to be asked by other guests to refill the juice machine, coffee, etc.. We noticed this all week. It would also be nice to have breakfast last until 10 on the weekdays for people on vacation. 9:30 is early for this area for breakfast to end. We had a good stay overall, and the area has many restaurants.

We stayed here for 5 nights. This hotel was very nice and clean. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool area was very nice, plenty of room to swim and sunbathe. The neighborhood around the hotel was nice, and a Walgreens was close by.

A new hotel with great location and excellent prices. The lobby was beautiful (love the huge fish tank!), the breakfast was good and the dining area was lovely. We got to the room and it was large and very clean. King room with what they said was a "fold out couch"--I expected some ugly small couch, but it was a large sectional with a lounger. Very nice! The bed was firm and the room was so quiet, even with the hotel been full to capacity and our room being right near the active pool/hot tub area. I will stay there again for sure whenever I need to visit my family in the area. Pet friendly too--they even have scooper bags, which is great
