Jack Dusty's is inside the Sarasota Ritz Carlton. It is the only dining option in the hotel.
We arrived at the hotel on a Friday night around 8:00 without dinner reservations but the restaurant was only half full. The hostess was not helpful and after at least ten minutes of frustrating back and fourth, the manager came over and told her to give us a table. This experience soured the whole evening, but we tried to move on.
The waiter was great and the bread served before dinner is excellent. We had four different salads and four different seafood entrees and they were all good.
The atmosphere outside is very nice. Tables are not squeezed in, the grounds adjacent to the restaurant is lovely and there is a great view of the water. Inside is very nice also but the air conditioning is set too low so bring a jacket.
We ate breakfast at Jack Dustys our first morning of the trip. Two of us ordered gravlax, one an omelet and the fourth a croissant. Stick to the croissant! The gravlox were inedible. The omelet was mediocre at best. The croissants were excellent as was the strawberry jam.
I will not return here.
