I was really very excited to love this place. I had read so many positive reviews (mostly on Yelp, but later found out The Ritz invited Yelpers to a private preview, so in my opinion those reviews are very slanted) and was ready to be wowed.
The space is very pretty. It is open, nicely decorated, with a beautiful bar.
We started with Mote caviar, and although they gave nice portions of it, the lemon creme fraiche was so overpowering the taste of the caviar was lost. I also had the tomato and burrata salad. It was not seasoned and came with no dressing. I liked the concept, but the flavors did not deliver.
Main courses were seafood gumbo that was thick and goopy with the smallest shrimp and scallops I've ever seen (this is supposed to be a seafood restaurant).
My husband had the catch of the day (grouper) simply grilled. It was way overcooked and dry. If you are supposed to be a seafood restaurant you better know how to cook a piece of fish.
I was very disappointed in this place!
