Description: This place is temporarily closed due to renovation. The Eat Here restaurants in Sarasota and Anna Maria Island were recently selected as two of Florida"s "Best New Restaurants" as part of Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Awards. The award was particularly gratifying for the team at Eat Here's parent restaurant, the Beach Bistro, which has long been enthroned in Florida Trend's "Golden Spoon Hall of Fame" and ZAGAT's "Top Restaurants in America." Eat Here was previously selected “Best New Restaurant” by newspapers on Anna Maria Island and in Sarasota. The third Eat Here has now opened on Siesta Key to similar rave reviews. Eat Here celebrates chef-crafted, Gulf-Coast cookery featuring presentations of local farm products, fresh, locally-caught seafood and inspired pizza and tacos. The Eat Here bars serve traditional and creative cocktails, craft beers, and wines from pimarily family-owned vineyards. Eat Here’s chef staff is trained in the Beach Bistro's school of commitment to culinary excellence.

“The Best Restaurant in Siesta Key”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2014

You have to eat at Eat Here when visiting Siesta Key! It's now been open for just over a year, and the food continues to be excellent. The menu has a variety to choose from, and we're never disappointed with our choices! The service is always excellent and they are well informed of any specials. My only complaint is that it can be loud and noisy at times, but it's because everyone is having such a great time! I strongly recommend reservations, but as all restaurants in SK it's an early dining crowd, so go later to have a more leisurely dinner. Will go back again before we leave on this trip........ the food is amazing!

“Great menu and atmosphere!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2014

This is a fun, funky atmosphere to have a great dinner in. The dining area is big an open which can lead to a noise problem, but not on the night I visited as my reservation was for 8:30 pm and as we were seated the restaurant slowly began to empty (This is Florida wear the state bird is the early bird). I ordered the salmon. It's on the menu as a wild salmon (not farm raised) and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was firm and flaky, unlike the farm raised which can be soft and mushy. It was cooked perfectly and had a sauce that had a nice bite to it. My guest had the mahi which was good, but the salmon was definitely the better choice!

We went for a special Valentines dinner. Food was great. Server less than helpful, unattentive to her patrons. Atmosphere not great. Disappointing..

“Disappointing second visit but good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2014 via mobile

We liked this place so much first time round that we chose to spend our last night of holiday here. Unfortunately it left us quite disappointed. The restaurant was very busy - more so than they expected we were told. The menu is not long and quite a few items were finished already by 8pm. I'd wanted to try the beets but couldn't. We shared the bruschetta again and it was still very tasty. I was told half way through the appetizer that the shrimp and lobster tacos had run out so ended up choosing salmon again as choice limited. Salmon was good but fries I had with it (couldn't face another corn casserole!) had definitely seen better days. Husband's ribs very tasty but not his first choice either. Pity but will put it down to an off night.

“Don't let the simple name turn you away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 8, 2014 via mobile

Initially thought how could a simple name like Eat Here be a dining experience. Was I surprised! Went in after the dinner hour for light fare at the bar and left stuffed. Started with tempura beets which I have never seen before. They were done perfectly. The best part is my husband hates beets and ate half the basket. We then ordered the small plates of Mahi Mahi with caper sauce and corn casserole. The fish was cooked perfectly and was so moist. I had the grilled shrimp served on mashed potato , which I initially thought was a wierd combo but it was amazing. Fresh dynamic flavors., enjoyed immensely.
